The annual "Bro Trip" with my brother Tom which is all about the food and the pain comes to an end. Leaving from Cork Lake and picking the pain of portaging the longest well maintained portage in that area, we head for home but not without some pit stops. We check out an abandoned railroad bridge and the rail bed itself. After a few portages and a curtesy tailwind into Accray access point, we head to the Barron Canyon lookout trail to check out the canyon from the top. It doesn't disappoint!

Thanks, Matt and Tom. Enjoyed it all. Should go back in warmer weather and lower water, when the slide and swimming at High Falls is much more inviting, as well as swimming and diving off the rocks at the Cork Lake campsite. Had a wonderful encounter with wolves at that campsite years ago when our son-in-law's response to their calls across the lake drew them our way, which then got a little scary, until they must have realized we were not a rival pack and left us alone.

Thanks Mark for watching the series! I'm sure we will be back in the future. Sounds like a cool wolf experience! Have yet to have the pleasure of hearing a pack

I'm stuffer all the way. I was told many many years ago that if you keep folding your tent in the same way the creases will create weak spots. Not entirely sure that's true, but i'm stuck with it.
@MattHaughn
@MattHaughn 3 жыл бұрын
I have heard that too. Maybe an experiment is needed to see which way is best for the tent.

Great video series Matt! Really enjoyed it! I would love it if Algonquin could turn that old railway between Kiosk and Achray into a multi-use trail for hiking and biking! I first thought of this idea a few years back. Could be for day use like the Old Railway Trail near highway 60, and could also be used for multi-day trips, maybe add some campsites along the trail here and there. That would be awesome!

Agreed! Would be easy flat walking. I’m sure there are a lot of animals who travel it as well so lots of good sightings.

Great series. I’m a roller. I loosely lays the tent pieces on top of each other in an accordion type style so I don’t get air bubbles, then tightly roll it. Then I stuff it bhahaha. Cheers !
