That is one of the nicest abandoned places I've seen. It's a shame they cannot give it to someone in need instead of leaving it to rot. I like the front door...and fireplace.

Place like that, I'd come in with some supplies and a few people, sweep it out, patch it up, and never let anyone else be the wiser. If someone owns it, odds are it'll be mine by the time they go check on it. If it's the government's I doubt they'd object to a free caretaker keeping an unused property from disrepair on private dime. Be a killer place to get away without dealing with ownership obligations, and even if someone owns it and comes back I doubt they'd object to drywall patching, sweeping, and roof repair...

Since there's a highway right next to the place, I'm guessing it was a tourist information center. The rotary phone dates it from the late 1960 to early 1970s. That's plenty of time for all those trees to have grown up between the building and the highway. There's probably a parking lot buried under the grass between the building and the road, too. The public drinking fountain at 2:44 and the stove exhaust hood at 3:13 are clues, too. This place used to be open to the public. They may have prepared hot food, as well.

Some day I’m gonna come across a video like this from someone who finds my cabin in the woods lol. I’ve been doing it for 8 years and as far as I know nobody has found it. Great fun just don’t leave trash behind. I’m not sure what kind of trouble I could get in it is miles on the forest on state land but it is out of the National park areas. Hopefully if someone does find it they will see I worked very hard to not be disrespectful.

Was it the rotary phone, the spider webs, or the two inches of dust on everything that tipped you off to the length of time since it had been inhabited? At least they had cleared most everything out of it: no piles of paper on the floor or smelly trash in kitchen or mounds of moldy clothes. It is a great place, except for the sheets of wood paneling. Yuck! Too bad whoever owns it is letting it stand empty. Why did y'all thrash through the woods when there was apparently a road running right in front of it? Were you being clandestine?
