Always wanted to go to the Tealing Control Tower, passed it many times on the racing bike, and when hiking up the Sidlaws. Interesting places at the back of Sidlaws, too BKR. You would have loved meeting old Sid Scroggie!!!! 😅

That's decayed since the 1960's. Used to be a hang out for us. Have you been up to the Earth House and the Ice House?

Must of been an impressive structure back in the 60s

@@BKR No graffiti, that's for sure, most windows were gone though, but still a great place for games when we were kids. The airstrip was clear and some of the better buildings were used by locals for storage, etc. I thought it would have been demolished by now, good to see.

Google Earth offers a pretty nice overhead view of RAF Tealing, showing the ghosts of the runways.

These places definitely need protecting for history sake. My grandfather was an officer in the RAF in the second world war and used to travel to different airfields in Britain and was a pilot in the first world war. He was stationed at RAF Scampton during the Dambuster raids in the second world war, the place they now want to build on to house Migrants. An insult to British history and all those brave crews who flew from there. Great video. Enjoyed it.👍

Hey thanks 👍 It was so interesting to document this history before it's lost. It's good to look at all the small details of of these buildings as I explore, it gives me more knowledge for future adventures at other airfields 👍🏞️🏴

I was in the RAF. Bruce Barrymore Halpenny explains all about RAF architecture in his ACTION STATIONS BOOKS.
