The owner is super nice. The train isn't abandoned, it was parked in 2010 after they couldn't get trackage rights and was vandelized. They are working on getting it running again.

That would be awesome if they can and do!

Of course a built JK makes it look easy, because it is! Only Toyota’s on small tires have a hard time!

For sure, agreed for beyond stock vehicles it's easy. That's the great apart about the variety we had on this trip is that those with stock vehicles can get an idea of what it's like taking these trails on a stock truck.

You can not access the abandoned train anymore.... its blocked off with many no trespassing signs and no parking signs. The whole entrance is blocked off. I tried to access the train on June 5, 2022. There are many new looking pieces of equipment there and a newer looking chevy was parked at the weigh station. So anyone wanting to see it... well you can't unless you wanna trespass.

Honestly, I don't really like the trails when it's nothing but banging your head through the ceiling. I wish it was more ride, check out a few scenic views, encounter some solid obstacles / challenges, ride some more. A lot of the trails down here just beat you up the entire way. I'll take it over nothing though!

Good video, at least you put a disclaimer in there that the train is owned by someone else..... The owners live down the road from the train and it is not a Abandoned Train it was parked and crack heads stole parts off it for scrap and defaced it. You got part of the story right all but why it was parked...The train was just paid off several years ago.
@BuilttoVenture3 жыл бұрын
I do my best to make sure all the info is accurate. Thanks for chiming in! It would be amazing if people wouldn't destroy things, especially things that aren't theirs in the first place. Do you know the owners?
@Mudcon3 жыл бұрын
@@BuilttoVenture yea I am friends with both of them. Scotty owns the general store right down the road. Stop in and he will tell ya what happened why it got parked. Jimmy own ligia's Fork cabins right pass the county bridge. Both have a wealth of knowledge and history of new river. It's sad to see over a million bucks they spent down the drain with crack heads destroying it when it is on private property. They couldn't keep no trespassing signs hung due to people kept stealing them.

@@BuilttoVenture "No breaks" as in "No Brakes". That's a joke son. You missed it. I said.. I said that's a joke son. LOL I'm teasing you because I have been riding an ATV without any breaks for 2+ years now. I've been all over Windrock Park except that I limit myself to the easy and intermediate trails. I use engine breaking exclusively to get me down all the hills. So getting there "with no brakes" made perfect sense to me.

your NOT Allowed to visit. There are no tresspassing signs everywhere and cameras. I really hate that you tell people where this is and then say that you dont know why people destroy things. Your giving them access to a piece of history and allowing them to destory it.
@BuilttoVenture2 жыл бұрын
Melissa: 1) The owner was allowing people to enjoy the train when I viewed it and shared this video. 2) Unfortunately people were destroying the thing before most people even knew it existed and not as a result of this video... 3) I'm not allowing any one to destroy anything. (The big man upstairs knows what I would like to happen to those that go around vandalizing and ruining things.) 4) I imagine you enjoy visiting awesome places? What if no one had ever shared those with you?
