Buy it, they are all out in the country and no one wants to live in many. There are tens of thousands of them alone in france. that would be an enormous undertaking for one person to live in one its not viable, unless every millionaire in france wanted to live in one.

Beautiful. The horses are fine, they are just elderly, but well cared for. The embroidered chairs were very old - from the 1700s. The photos from the second half of the 19th century. I very much enjoyed this one. Thank you.

This was a wonderful explore. Thank you much. Must have been a vibrant home to many families through centuries. The furnishings are still lovely, but the castle is decaying in weak spots despite it being so well made. The grounds are beautiful. The appearance of the white horses was perfect. Jess was delighted. They are cared for and may be ridden by their owner. Very well behaved and well groomed horses like those have people. France can still be magical. 💙🌸🌙🐌

It's so heart rending, time passes, people die...no one seems to care that these people and places existed. There must be somone who owns the chateau?! Remember in one of the bedrooms, there's a photo of the white wild horses... fantastic! They've probably been around for years!! Wow, wild horses.

Yeah, those things do NOT belong there, but in the house of someone who actually respects history! Those unthankful bastards who inherited that place deserve to be left without it and everything in it. It's disgusting to see how history is left to die

Well it certainly would have been nice to know the history of this house and the generations of family that thrived and lived there. could you imagine how much it would cost just to pay the hired help let alone the maintenance on the house. slavery was abolished in 1848 in France so from that point on they would have had to pay the hired help. I'm sure some very influential family lived there over the years. where did they go

Watching these abandoned majestic structures on YT, we always wonder what happened to inhabitants and/or why family members seemingly forgot about their existence. My assumption is that these huge chateaus/mansions from the past are just too costly to keep up today. Very likely in need of repairs when last person(s) left. Still very sad!

Very interesting structure...and lots of the old tech still evident. Plenty of fleur de lys on the "fireplaces" also interesting...Intrigued as to the water source running hereunder/around the property. Someone knows what happened to the people who occupied this building, I'm sure, and all those children in the photos...many, and their offspring, must still be alive. And those lovely old horses, wow!! But someone must be attending to them, maintaining their feet if nothing else. Thanks guys xxx

@@annaassk7138 Yes that is baffling but some people who live comfortably on their own existence may not see the need or the importance to save such relished treasures. Others may feel they just do not have the time. Here in the states, a neighbor on the street passed and lived in three bedroom. The daughter lives in California (I'm in Tennessee), left that home and its contents to rot after her mom passed...vines coming in, roof leaked and bugs galore. But there was so much beautiful things. I finally asked her if they were ever going to get some of their antiques out and she said she did not have the time or the need to save that stuff and told me to get whatever I wanted and I did! The city eventually tore the home down.

I love the way you guys interact with each other, you really seem to be meant together! Finding out you went to school together was so nice. God bless you both. The Chateaux was amazing, l can imagine fine ladies and gents dressed in their finery through the ages, with loads of servants busseling about looking after the huge family. Am guessing there must have been beautiful stables back in the day. Those gorgeous white horses were a great way to finish the explore. Also that greenhouse must have been beautiful in it's day.

This has got to be one of your best explores ever. Wonder what happened to the family. Beautiful mare and stallion. Flies drink the moisture out of their eyes and can cause all sort of problems, hence I put a fly veil on my horse. The stallion could just be old, theres heaps of feed for them. They both are in good condition for brumbies. They are obviously used to people. What a special ending to your explore. Stay safe xx

Wow, this is truly a magical and magnificent place. This is one of those places ya hate to see roting away. Was horrible to see that people were/are leaving their excrement in the places they did/were, it's so very disturbing. Hell at least go dig hole in the trees and go if ya can't hold it. The rooms are so beautiful, the rooms tucked away upstairs would be wonderful if fixed up. The views are extraordinary from these rooms. If I could would love to just walk in there with the bats, walk them out. Love the kitchen, would be wonderful to have it fixed and usable. The stove was awesome. And all the space to store ones canning. Those jars that are there are to old by todays standards for food canning but properly cleaned out, could still use to store dry herbs, spices and many other things. The horses you found at the end were beautiful and so gentle. Thank you Jess for petting them.😊🥰😊. Would love to have that green house attached to my house.

As an American I can’t fathom this. I recall going in an abandoned home -a 1956 ranch (ooohh) in Oakbrook IL. Family photos strewn from one end to the other. They had a daughter who looked like she had Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Of course a cop walked in on me w/in 30 mins. He was nice though. Said the prop was going to be torn down for a mansion. And it was. Sometimes I wonder if abandon places had evil things happen and God said - ok- enough.

Incredible place! What an explore! The old photos in the album were earlier probably 1880 to 1900, glass negatives used to be in cameras loaded into a wooden carrier with metal plates called 'dark slides' they weren't at first as sensative as modren film so the exposure times on early glass negatives were very long. Loved this one! Stay safe out there!

beautiful explore! I love the way you take your time with the objects as well. The photos in the album at around 32 minutes in, look like Cabinet Cards (the older ones) - which became popular in the 1880s, but the method was still used up until around 1920. From the style of dress, most of those photos are from the 1800s. It does break my heart to see the abandoned /forgotten photos. Those are memories that will be lost one day forever. That stash of glass negatives I gasped - those are very rare to survive. Why do the families not at least rescue them?

It takes an old soul to be able to appreciate the past. Young people who are modern would never see the beauty of a time gone by. Thanks for sharing this adventure 😊

This house was built in 1863 on top of a much older house. There are rumors of underground passages beneath the house. This area was originally established way back in 959, but this property was most recently owned by the du Croc family.
