Trik Trak Victorian time Capsule
A cold winter's day is when I first laid eyes on this house. I parked at the end of the driveway (just barely) and walked down just as the sky was turning that deep blue colour after the sun has set. I walked inside and had a quick look around and knew this was a location that I needed to come back to. Unfortunately, I never marked down the location, I thought about the house numerous times over the years and knew that I had to find it again to go back there. Fast forward a few years and the location again popped back onto my radar. I finally made it out there and was able to see it again for the first time.
Built in the late 1800s this Victorian Farmhouse has sat abandoned and forgotten for about 16 years according to a calendar on the wall from 2006. A time capsule with furniture, belongings and personal items left behind. It also has one of the most amazing staircases I have seen inside an abandoned farmhouse. It has sat decaying for at least that long while the surrounding land was used for livestock until at least 2015. Since then the land surrounding the home has become severely overgrown and almost invisible to people travelling by while the surrounding crops continue to be actively farmed.

So I don't blow up your comments section, I'll just keep a running list of everything I love! LOL Wallpaper, stained glass around the front door, huge white fireplace with dental moulding, stairway, round old suitcase looking thing (I think it's like a 70's-80's hair dryer case, would have included also a hose going to a cap, if you know what I mean.) I love the explanation of how it may have become abandoned. I would have never given it a second thought. Basically, I loved everything but the bees! Thanks for all you do!

Hi James This house must have been a beauty. Has nice fireplaces even the gas one. I agree that the staircase is magnificent. You said it was weird for the clothes dryer to be in the kitchen. Maybe so in Canada. My kitchen is large and it accommodates both my washer and dryer. I was glad you could not get in the basement. What you showed us looked creepy. Overall a nice video. I liked it. Well James we will see you in the next Static Space please stay safe and well.

That one fireplace was actually electric, not gas. I honestly don't think i have an electric one before but would imagine it is very expensive to run! Yes washers and dryers in the kitchen is very uncommon here but i think it is a sign of an aging homeowner who can no longer use the stairs, i have seen a few instances of it before. Glad you enjoyed it Irene and thanks for the support!!

Hi James : I remember those " living bras " well , and how unfortunately so many of them died of starvation ,when women with tiny titties , tried to wear them !! I had that exact Magnus chord organ , as a child ,long before electronic keyboards were invented . I adore your appreciation of things from the past . That fake fireplace came from Sears , in the early 70's .Everybody had one ,and if you didn't , you were a total nobody . Extremely well produced video as always . Take care , Buddy

Just beautiful in my eyes. I can only imagine this house over the many decades and family members who came and went and all the memories. Looks like it was a man who lived by himself for awhile in the house with all the items of a family left behind for decades it appears. Alot of old items I found interesting. Its sad everything has been decaying along with the house for a long time it appears . No repairs I bet in a very long time with the house inside and out 😔. I bet the house in its hay day was fancy and beautiful for its time. It seems like there is always one elderly person that is alone in these houses for awhile then unfortunately they pass away and then nobody does anything with the house again or its beautiful items inside of a time long gone by from family members and eras lost. I am sure its very expensive to maintain a house like this. I really enjoyed this video and the house and its items. I always imagine all the family members over time that lived there and the kids and pets , a life time of memories ❤😊 Thanks for sharing the memories of this once beautiful place ❣️😊

Hi👋🏽James☕️ I am Enjoying my coffee and you this afternoon…it’s very cool here in New York State today. My parents had the floor to ceiling lamps and an RCA tv in our living room…it looks like they were trying to pack up those barrels in the kitchen …but for some reason stopped…my Mom had tons and tons of Tupperware🤦🏽‍♀️the fridge was empty😂but I bet it was still stinky right…I absolutely loved that old trunk that was sitting in the middle of the room…how could they leave it behind to rot away…so sad…I want to have it…When you went into the garage I was laughing at how happy you were to see another fridge…thank goodness it was empty…love the stone wall…sled…and the white chair in the garage also…especially the chair. Another Fabulous Explore James…you never disappoint…a great Farm House. TFS🙏🏽Be Care and Stay Safe…see you on the next trip.

That is so cool that your parents had those types of lamps and TVs. Yes, i think maybe they started to clean out the house a long time ago but couldn't finish, that's ok because it's more for us to explore. I honestly can't remember if the fridge stunk or not but probably even if not as bad as the ones full of food. Glad you enjoyed the video Beverley and thanks for the support!!

I like the chord organ. I've had many in my time, and I even know how to actually play the chords without it. Meaning I don't need a chord organ to sound good, but they're "quaint", I suppose. And yeah, the fireplace... er... I mean the (quote) 'fireplace' (unquote)... was kinda' ugly. But better than a lot of people ever have. We have those same exact cupboards, right on down to the same exact curlicue pattern of holes in the false drawer panel right under the sink, and the little roundish shelves on the side above it. They even had the same handles before mom "updated" them with something more modern (and truly ugly). God rest her tacky-but-lovable soul. ❤ (Really, she was a great woman, but definitely ruined some classic looks with some truly gaudy 'updates'). The bees were cute, but still very nopish (or nope-ish, in case that doesn't read clearly enough). I could swear I heard their buzzing forming the words "GET OUT!" - but maybe I just watch too much "Amityville Horror" (the original). At least they weren't Asian murder hornets. And the "some sort of electrical somthing/light bulb" was a vacuum tube. What they used before the transistor was invented in radios, TVs, CB stations and the like. They did usually glow, but they weren't meant to be lightbulbs. Our first TV was full of 'em. I'd stick my head over the vents in the back of the TV & watch the glow die down as it was shut off, and the smell... something you don't forget, and it wasn't just burnt hair! :-) Those were the TVs that came on with a little white dot in the center that slowly expanded to fill the screen, and if you sat too close while watching them, you didn't need to tan. Thanks for the great sense of humor, and another interesting tour! This is the kind of house I like to see most - somewhat messy & junked-up, though not too dangerous. Safe explores to ya'!

Hey SS. That was fun. So much to look at. Those lightbulbs were tubes for tv’s, radios etc(my uncle was an electrician & he always fixed anything & everything) Do they still make those light poles? I just remember that the one we had was spring loaded & was very noisy when it was moved. I loved that staircase. All that colorful wallpaper (the kitchen-groovy man, far out, flower power😂). Of course I looked up 40 % Celsius in Fahrenheit (yes, I’m American)that is hot. Thanks

So what was the purpose of those bulbs for radios? They don't make those light poles anymore but i want an older one from the 70s anyway, if it were modern, i wouldn't be interested. It's funny because we use the metric system in Canada but for some reason, indoor thermostats are usually in fahrenheit. Its odd i know but it's the only way can understand indoor versus outdoor temps. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the support CK!!

@@StaticSpaces they are tubes(I have no idea why they’re called that)& I believe it brought in the signal better. For the tv it did the same. @@StaticSpaces They are not bulbs! They are vacuum tubes. They were electronic components like transistors and chips are on printed circuit boards today. They were diodes, triodes, tetrodes, and pentodes. Some vacuum tubes emitted radiation and required shieling. The box that you found it in contained other components of a radio or TV, some type of receiver. The thing in the box with all the round blades was a tuner.
