Whoever made that shelter, if they return, they are going to be amazed. Nice camouflage look. The idea of you cooking food in the woods makes my mouth water and, as usual, you didn't disappoint.
@jamesellsworth96735 жыл бұрын
You truly upgraded that shelter. I am now 'Olde' but I do remember that 'some shelter' is 'somewhat better' than no shelter. Maybe freedom from wind is a first step. The ability to turn a light rain is next. In my eyes, you restored that shelter to this level. A proper rain is difficult to turn if it persists. I learned that early as a youth where I was supposed to be the 'wiser older brother' in a woodland camp. For quick and effective and light shelter, today's tarps help ever so much. They do not film as well as your set up in this video. I would go with your way any time I did not believe rain would be possible (well, I have been mistaken in the past about that!)

Nice video with lots of information. Do you think it's a good idea to use a living tree as the main support for the shelter, whether it was previously used or not? Also do you think it could be risky advocating the use of green living branches, even from a fallen tree that may re-establish itself? If its not living the leaves won't be green. It could also encourage random use of living material to build a debris (dead, waste material) shelter. I am a great believer in leave no trace and if you need a shelter build it, use it and remove it. I believe we are guests in nature when we go out to enjoy it and should always respect that.
