I haven't bought new Nintendo games in over eight years.

It's always fascinating seeing younger people suddenly realize that Nintendo is litigious. This is the company that sued everybody from Blockbuster to Galoob in the 1980s, and continues that tradition with anybody looking to preserve classic games. Also, on a side note, making a channel about a single thing is silly. And I get that people think there are a lot of views in being outraged all the time, but it's hard to take your seething anger seriously in this video. It's going to be okay. Video games are going to be fine. Just relax and have fun. We're talking about video games, after all.

The issue I have stands with the method they are going for. More specifically. They patented a game mechanic AFTER the competition was released. This could potentially cause issues for game developers in the future. Should this lawsuit succeed. It sets a dangerous precedent. Allowing companies to sue over a game mechanic. Which up until this point, has been considered unthinkable. And on my part. It is less anger and more sheer disappointment. Fan games and such, I get. Because at that point, they are not even making their own assets. But over a mechanic is just flat out petty. As for my channel. I find focusing on one thing a lot better in terms of growth to start out. Though, once you swap. You do lose a lot of viewership. So if I am focusing on, lets say, Trading Card Games. I could grow at a decent speed, however. Swapping to something else could be detrimental. In terms of where the channel will go in the long term, I am not sure. But I think for me personally. Trading Card Games are a good starting point.

I should also clarify. I do not enjoy drama. But this is one I could not look away from. I used to have Splatoon 3 videos on my channel. But took them down not long after I recorded this video.
