@@hnrwagner Could you kindly show us how we can simulate crack initiation and propagation in brittle materials using Brittle cracking model in Abaqus? and also smeared cracking in Abaqus/Explicit? I would be grateful for such information. I like to learn from you more and more. I would like to know your opinion about the following too. Do you think XFEM with damage Max principal stress with displacement evolution is an appropriate approach to capture fracture in a brittle material? Also, for a problem with high heat cyclic loading on steel, which damage model in Abaqus can be used to simulate damage or crack? Thanks

hi, do you run your script in python? or do you copy it into abaqus and run it there?

@@hnrwagner do you think it is possible to use a .json file in the .py script and run this script in abaqus console? or is there no interaction between abaqus console and .json files to read parameters out? or is it only possible with .txt data?
