I had a 2018 595 Competizione for nearly 2 years, very flawed but it was great fun. Running over 200bhp with Brembo brakes and different suspension. I have now had a modified GR Yaris for 2 years and to be honest there isnt much in it for smile factor, The Yaris would obviously leave it for dead in every scenario but I did love my wee Abarth!

Let's be honest, JayEmm on Cars was right, in regards to the Abarth 595 "special editions", a good chunk of these "special editions" are just simply, sh1te. This is coming from someone who currently owns an Series 3 Abarth 595 Turismo. If you're looking to get an Abarth 595 Series 3 (2008 - 2015), go for the Competitzione (2015 with the 4 pot big brakes, uprated suspension and a Garrett turbo which has a higher tuning potential bhp'wise over the standard IHI turbo these 595 come with). The 595 Essessse (4 pot brakes and a few other options including uprated suspension). The Turismo (no big 4 pot brakes, although you could retrofit them, but, you can get ones with some lovely tan coloured leather seats, and tinted rear windows, special aluminium pedals and silver gear knob over the standard 595, It also comes with a BMC air filter as standard I think. The series 3 Turismo is nothing fancy, but, still decently spec'd compared to the Comp, and Essesse). You could even go for the "Biposto which comes with 190bhp, but I don't see the point in buying that car over the 2015 Competitzione (unless you're a collector), as the 2015 Comp has the same tuning potential as the Biposto, AND it has AC unlike the Biposto. If you're going for the Series 4 (2016 - ), go for the Essesse, Turismo or Competitzione, they all have the Garratt Turbo if I remember correctly, which means they can be tuned to 200bhp + or thereabouts. The Series 4 with the IHI turbos are probably decent cars, but, personally, I'd stage 1 them immediately, as they only come with 145 bhp I think. The IHI turbo tops out at 170'sih bhp. Anyway, the 595 is a decent/quirky car, that has a lot of character/flavour. I just hate when people overhype them, and start throwing a fit if you don't agree with their zealous worship of the Abarth 595.
