I lost my sister at 21yrs, she bought this record on 45rpm, you could put the record players arm to one side, so the record could be played over and over again, she played it that much our father said 'bev give it a rest, even I know the words to the song!!! '....when I hear it now I get mixed feelings, one a reminder of her playing it, yet another that she's no longer here,......music seems to do that I guess....... 😢

There was a time in my life when i used to say "oh no. Not ABBA again". My mom was a hardcore fan. She would sing it everywhere. Car, kitchen, bath, bedroom, just name it. I grew up listening to their songs everyday. She passed away few years ago and the best memories of my mom and me are all filled with ABBA songs. And thats how ABBA became my favorite.

What is amazing about this great group is their biggest fans. Their concerts were filled with kids ranging from 8 to 14 years old. All their music is so well done, perfectly performed, and very easy to listen to. Maybe that is why the kids liked it so much. I enjoy it immensely. You haven't seen a group quite like them since.

Some of the best songwriters ever, and the girls' harmonies are insane. Knowing me knowing you, Chiquitita, Fernando, One of Us, When all is said and done, Slipping through my fingers etc etc. Their best songs have sad lyrics to a catchy tune and danceable rhythm, which is quite interesting. They were even bigger stars outside of the US, sold almost 400 million albums, and are in the top 3-5 selling bands of all time.

These is ABBA, the iconic Swedish pop quartet, the best, most versatile and most important of the 70s, in the post BEATLES decade (the revolutionary group of the 60s) ABBA, as in its time BEATLES, was a musical and cultural phenomenon, and its legacy lives on ABBA is an acrostic with initials of their first names; initialy They was two couples: Agnetha (blonde lead vocal) & Björn (guitarist and songwriter) Benny (pianist and songwriter) & Anni Frid (brunette lead vocal) (both couples separated before the end of the group in 1982) "Dancing Queen" (1976) is a beautiful song, which shines in the loftiness of its vocal harmonies the blonde Agnetha is soprano voice, the brunette Frida is mezzo soprano voice, and blending together made the 'third voice of ABBA' And the music is bright and enveloping, from the initial chord it introduces you into the atmosphere of the disco and invites you to dance English public has voted it as one of the songs they want to hear the most, because of the feeling of joy and energy it gives them (another is "Don't stop me now" by Queen) And in 2015 "Dancing Queen" was included in the Hall of Fame of Rock and Roll music ABBA recording between 1972/1982, have a wonderful series of more than 20 worldwide hits (and also 50 another great songs), included nine #1 in UK: Waterloo Mamma Mia Fernando Dancing Queen Knowing me knowing you The name of the game Take a chance on me The winner takes it all Super trouper And after more than 35 years ABBA return to studio in 2017 and recording a full new album "Voyage" between 2017/2021 released in November 2021 and is a worldwide succes ABBA begin to be famous in 1974, when They won the Eurovision Song Contest in UK with their iconic song "Waterloo" these is the link of the live perfomance, that I suggest you to a next reaction kzbin.info/www/bejne/aXfWh5iDr5Z5a8U I hope to see more reactions to ABBA GOD bless you my best regards from Buenos Aires Argentina 🇦🇷 South America

The terrible truth is that ABBA were pretty vast outside of the US. Back home in the UK they were almost treated as honorary Brits, with a series of No.1 records that would make modern artists blush with shame. Despite that, they never really had critical approval at the time. And I sense this is part of the wider phenomenon of pop gaining credibility in age.
