And when we do realise that we are listening to singers all well over 70 years of age it makes it even more special. This is amazing.

next year, they will be 300 (total) :-) we will have a new album with their original sound and their original current voices, while their original (motion captured) performance will go on tour with the Abbatars, and they can rightfully stay at home, enjoy their lives without touring stress and pressure, and maybe ... someday ... produce yet another new album ... :-)

“Amazing for the music industry”. A statement that means a lot to die hard ABBA fans to hear, because, the music industry is broken and full of utter rubbish. ABBA have in fact, saved us from the deepest depression.

I watched an interview with Frida from 2015 in which she was asked if she would ever consider recording and going on tour again. Frida replied; "I don't think I have it in me to do that. When you do that you leave yourself open to all kinds of criticism and the pressures of touring schedules. I don't think I have it in me." Now, here she is 6 years later singing that phrase but in a positive way, not negative. More of a "we have each others' back and we won't let each other down!" I think this is just wonderful!

I think it was Agnetha that held back a reunion .. she *hated* touring, she had done it since she was seventeen .. terribly homesick all the time .. missing her kids, she just wanted a normal life. ABBA was too large for her gentle soul. The other three appear to have always been more positive of the thought of making more music. They never broke up though, the band was just put on a hold and all of them remained friends. No animosity. I am Swedish and these "facts" are fairly well known here at home, but maybe not in the rest of the world. They will not tour and that is probably because Agnetha refuses to do that again. It scarred her the last time around. When the two ladies layer their harmonies hearts melt and meld. Glorious chemistry between the four of them. Cheers 🍺

The day that they said ABBA had reformed for a new album was like a dream come true. I was 16 or 17 when they broke up. I was heart broken. But now, I love watching reactions to the new songs. ABBA fans the world over are rejoicing. There's a new section of fans from the children of fans of ABBA when they broke up. I cannot wait for the new album. It's going to break a lot of records I think.

It's a very retrospective song, expressing insecureness and trying to find reassurance in themselves to restart their musical relationship again. Btw, the "concert" is part of a computer generated project, featuring their CGR-personas, aka avatars, in a concert-tour. Next year, will see a computer-animated concert-tour with live-audience and orchestra plus the avatar-show for the album "Voyage"

Why did they break up? The pain and shame of having other people take care of your young children all the while feeling that you are a bad mother for not being with them but rather traveling the world. That was Agnetha. She hated touring and it wore on her which meant that it wore then on her husband, Bjorn (guitar player) which then became an issue with others in the band. Agnetha became disenchanted with the fame and whole business. Benny and Anni-Frid just lost touch with each other and didn't realize it because they were so busy. The boys were the driving force in the band and both loved the lime light. The girls, not so much! Relationships fell apart. Agnetha and Bjorn divorced in 1979 and Benny and Frida just a couple years after that. They all wanted to pursue other projects and so the band went on hiatus. They never made a declaration that the band was dissolved, they just never got back together. Agnetha and Bjorns' divorce was pretty amicable with no real ill will, after all, they did have two small children together. Anni-Frid (Frida) and Bennys divorce was much more of an acrimonious split. Agnetha did record some solo albums in the early to mid 80s', Benny and Bjorn worked on writing a play called "Chess" with famed lyricistTim Rice which, as I understand made it to Broadway and was quite successful! Then, in the late 90s' Benny and Bjorn were approached by a woman who had an idea about writing a play using their music called; "Mamma Mia". Bjorn was on board from the start but Benny was more cautious. Bennie insisted that he maintain complete control of the music to ensure that the ABBA brand would not be tarnished. The play was, and still is a huge success! That then led to a "Mamma Mia" movie starring Meryl Streep which ten years later led to another movie. "Mamma Mia, Here We Go again". It became obvious that their music had some very strong legs and there was a marketer more. Problem, there was no way that Agnetha and Frida would tour! Absolutely out of the question! Possible solution, "ILM Performance Capture Technology". Benny called them, Abbatars and the term seems to have stuck. It is important to note that they were all good friends and hung out together way before they decided to form a group. Agnetha and Frida have been friends all of this time. Frida married a German Prince who died of cancer in 1999, so she is a widow, but she does have a royal title of Princess Anni-Frid Reuss, Countess of Paulen. Frida recorded several records in the years following ABBA that did meet with modest success world wide. Time heals all wounds, so here we are at this incredible moment in time! You DID ask us to explain why they broke up. This is the abridged version.

I've been a Massive Fan of ABBA mainly since I saw Mamma Mia! in 2008 & then got ABBA Gold around the same time. Definitely the greatest Pop band in history & the GOAT in my opinion. No other group has had as much popularity, sales, musicals & movies based on their songs decades after they broke up. I'm ecstatic that they've released new music. I'm only 24 so it's amazing to actually be experiencing brand new ABBA music. PS: Out of All the ABBA new song reaction videos I've watched, Johnny - you're definitely the best looking of all of them - you should be an actor or model! 🧡 ABBA ! WELCOME BACK ! WELCOME HOME ! ABBA's new anthem. PLATINUM. After 40 long years, the magic has been rekindled and the dream is still alive. Though they may have had their doubts, we, the original community that helped propel ABBA to global stardom never doubted them. And this proves we were right all along. This release, along with "Don't Shut Me Down," heralds what magic must still be waiting inside those eight other tracks on "Voyage." November 5th release ! Cannot wait. Thanks, Johnny, for this reaction. Consider reacting to the other genius release "Don't Shut Me Down." For the love of music, and ABBA - Peace.

They where active between 72 and 82 but since they won the Eurovision song contest in 1974 they where on the wolrdstage with 22 worldhits and until now 400 million records sold. Not from an english speaking country and no international pop culture. Not much touring and scandals. Every song is unique, so are their blend of styles. Compositions, production and the quality of both vocalist is on an incredible high level. Indeed a phenomenon!

They managed to keep it secret by talking openly about it for years! In 2018 they told about this avatar concert project and that they had recorded 2 new songs, and then there was promises now and then when this was going to happen. So after 2 years or so everyone started thinking it will never happen and almost forgot about it And now suddenly it happened and the two songs have become an album and the digital tour became an arena. These two things they managed to keep a secret which still is incredible.

The ABBA concert arena is now being built and will open in May 2022 in London. All four members of ABBA performed all the songs in front of almost 200 cameras, capture motion tech., along with some digital magic so they appear as they did in 1977 - 79 era. It’s a new song along with ‘Don’t Shut Me Down’ and a new album with eight more new songs and a concert in February using avatars. Agnetha and Frida weren’t interested but Bjorn and Benny were always keen to get back together. Also pressure from their manager who kept persuading them. He said as their friend I understand them not wanting to get back together but as their manager I want them to. (Also their fans worldwide wanted it to) They were offered 1 billion dollars years ago to do a concert but they declined. I’m glad they’re back together even though this will be their very last time.

Until now two new ABBA songs have been known, both different in their themes and leading voices And both have the ABBA trademark on their solvency in musical composition and production We know the great spirit of perfection that Björn and Benny impress on their creations, and both new creatures live up to their great successes of the 80s. So the biggest mystery was to know the state of the voices of Agnetha and Frida and how they could react to the inevitable passing of the decades and their possible comparisons with previous classics. And I must also say that they both look very good And in that "look" there is an extraordinary job of caring for Björn and Benny to "take care" of their historical singers, partners and former partners. They gave them two wonderful songs, with beautiful melodies and deep lyrics, but they were also surrounded by the iconic hooks and the appeal to emotional nostalgia "I still have faith in You" is an unpublished song in its conception in the history of ABBA because it is self-referential about them as a group, and it is also testimonial, because they tell us about their experiences in all this time Musically it is a ballad with mystical and epic A stately and majestic piano, and Frida's soft voice conducts and recreates ABBA's story with poignant beauty, with Agnetha joining in some verses to emphasize The sound of the drums arrives (a nod to the mega hit "Fernando") as if preparing the change of rhythm And with a powerful guitar comes that first unpublished chorus, because this time all ABBA sings from the bowels of its history and with the strength of its testimony of life, of healing and togetherness. And in the second chorus, even stronger, it becomes very clear that ABBA sings with the passion and courage that Björn's excellent lyrics stand out, it is like a triumphant song of their survival and their bond. And it ends with a solo by Frida, flawless, with the flutes at the end Also isn't a commercial song (more than 5 minutes) it's so emotional, with a fantastic vídeo of all greatest memories of pictures, official videos of 70s songs and Australia tour ABBA really comes back at high level The world needs ABBA sound

the reason you see frida singing this new song is her abbatar look which will be used next may when they kick off their concert in london all 4 members went in and recorded 22 songs for this concert and wore leotards with motion detectors capturing all their movements. so when you see this show it will be their voices today and their movements but made to look like 1979 when they were at their peak.the only thing i am disappointed in is the chart positions on the top 100 in the u.s. both songs have charted 1 or 2 on most charts from england to australia but not here. people here would rather listen to the crap that is shoveled out there today. ABBA is pure magic and create masterpieces and they still do after 40 yrs. maybe these new artists can learn a lesson from them. ABBA came back just when the world needed them the most. over the years in many interviews they denied a reunion would be possible but when benny and bjorn had this live stream introducing these 2 new songs said they wanted to do this before they died

ABBA are very private persons. Many times they've been saying that they will never ever get into a reunion or something if they don't have the right feeling for it. Back in the early 2000s ABC/BBC offered the group to have a reunion concert for $1B but they turned it down. Maybe, this time around they have found the right feeling to make a new song again for their fans.

There is more to the comeback than just releasing a couple of songs. They are planning a concert in London in February (?). What you are seeing in that video are digital avatars created to look like them back in the 70s. There are several vids here that show how all this came about. It's cool because it has some clips of them in the recording studio, and while the avatars are on stage, it's their real voices doing the singing. Which is incredible. They are in their 70s! You see them with gray hair, thinning hair, double chins, age spots, and they are STILL SINGING!

4:30 ABBA made their records during the 1970s (72-81). The 60s were other musical carriers for all four.

The visuals are motion captured, and International Light And Magic computer avatars. The steps, singing and all mannerisms are regenerated in copies. This will be the ABA on the screen. The voices are actually the 4. The tour will bec2cyears in London, at a purpose-built portable arena for 3000. There is a 10 piece band in the background.

Gosh, it's been a long time since I have heard this info, but I think they were eventually two married couples. There were nasty divorces, and not only were they all still in the same band but singing about their private pain for the world to hear. Once the band dissolved, maybe it was just too much for them.

This comeback has been in the making for 4 years, first announced in 2017, when this song and Don’t Shut Me Down were announced to accompany the “digital” stage comeback as “ABBAtars” . The release was then pushed back to 2018, then indefinitely, then the pandemic hit. So, with the delay of the show, they decided to do a few more new songs which eventually turned into a whole album (which is a miracle!). Their avatars aka ABBAtars is what you see in the state segment of the video. So it is them NOW, singing this song as their young selves thanks to the technology. I recommend you watch their comeback “making of” video on their official channel which explains everything better than any of us could. Lol As for the reason why they never did anything together between then and now - like another commenter said, only they know it.

THEY REACHED A POINT WHERE THEY NEEDED TIME OUT IN THE 80'S. IT HAS BEEN REPORTED THAT THE GIRLS ESPECIALLY WERE VERY PRIVATE PEOPLE AND CERTAINLY FOR AGNETHA, SHE HAD A FAMILY TO RAISE. THIS COMEBACK HAS BEEN IN THE MAKING FOR 4-5 YEARS, SO THEY WERE THINKING ABOUT IT FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS. IT ALSO SEEMS THAT THEIR ABSENCE FROM SINGING AS WE KNOW THEM, SEEMS TO HAVE PRESERVED THEIR VOICES, BECAUSE THE GIRLS SUNG AMAZINGLY WELL - RIGHT

I listened to a video interview (I think it was here on KZbin) After breaking up, Agnetta had a sad story. She was a single mother (of course, she didn't lack for money or anything) and she was so burned out from recording and touring that she became a bit of a recluse. She said she got rid of anything musical in her house. She didn't want to think about it. She didn't want to hear it. I'll stop there because the story gets a bit personal after that. The other members went on with their lives. Benny and Bjorn were still composing - Chess premiered in 89. Frida got involved with environmental issues, but Angetta just disappeared. There were reports of her walking to the grocery store in Stockholm. But she just didn't want the intensity and pressure of recording again. I'm glad someone talked her out of it.

Agnetha hated noise, crowds and struggled with the fame and subsequent split from bjorn. She became recluse, this was the main reason they never got back together until now, actually the next song “Don’t shut me down” is about Agnetha
