It took many listens before I could listen to this song without getting overly teary eyed. It still gets to me, it's such a emotional song. What got to me the most is when Frida sings the last time I still have faith in you with her higher voice. Still gets me teary eyed.

A triumphant return to music, by pop's royalty, reclaiming their throne. This was a huge event in the music industry. Abba always did everything on their terms, never gave in to pressure. When they sing the lyrics in this song, "Humble and grateful, to have survived", I think they genuinely mean that and never took their success (or return) for granted. The best pop group ever ❤

I was 13 when I sat right in front of Frida, in the front row of an ABBA concert in Australia in 1977. She was electric. I was transfixed. She’s been my spirit animal ever since! Their return in 2021 was so triumphant, so emotional, so joyous- and so musical!! I’m so deeply happy that you love ABBA too. ❤

Thanks for doing this reaction. Benny and Bjorn still know how to write a song and Frida and Agnetha can still sing! Seems like the couples have patched up old wounds . Pictures of them doing this album and the Makiing of the voyage concert show them smiling and happy. Frida especially was happy to be back in the studio.and yes they do have it in them still!

The great world news of this 21st century for the world of music is the return of the mythical Swedish quartet ABBA to the recording studios in 2017 after more than 35 years (the last song recorded was "The day before you came" in 1982 ) and the release of their new songs after 39 years (the last single released was "Under attack" in 1982) and a new full-length studio album after 40 years (the last one was "The Visitor" in 1981) Beyond the fact that these three data are for the Guinness Book of Records (I believe that no group, singer or artist can come close to these incredible and surprising brands), the most remarkable thing is How they came back, with what level of quality. . And I must say that ABBA exceeded all fears, doubts and expectations. Their return is impressive and his quality is still valid, incredible! I cried like a baby when I heard and saw this video for the first time on september 2nd 2021! And in one and a half months I am going to London to see the Voyage concert at the ABBA Arena! All the video you are seeing is taking them from youth to the year of the performance as they walk on stage. And that is the age they chose to have their ABBAtars be. So the video is also telling the story. It was so well done. The first time I heard this song, the day of release, along with millions of others, I had tears falling and I realized I was shedding a tear for the sheer emotion of the moment. 40 years later these elderly icons created a new album for us (and sure for them) but they did not have to. They gave us a gift for years and decades of devotion. How special are they? By the way, this is your best reaction. That is my opinion.

Slow songs/ballads always have it more complicated than the faster ones. That's why most fans put Don't Shut Me Down above I Still Have Faith In You, saying that DSM is a much better song. They're both outstanding; they're just completely different. Nothing beats ISHFIY for me, as it was ABBA's first song after the 40s, and the cherry on top is the lead vocal by Frida. That magical moment will always stay etched deep inside of me.

Can I suggest you listen to Get On The Carousel. It was never released as a single, but was performed in Abba The Movie. The video on YT does has clips of the film mixed in with the live performance. I think you’ll enjoy it.
