hello, nice to see you again in another ABBA song there is much to say about "One of us" (1981) 1) It is a beautiful song, it has a soft melody and melancholic lyrics that allow Agnetha to shine with a very sweet voice, and a catchy and harmonic chorus 2) was ABBA's last big hit, #1 in several European countries and #3 in the UK (last Top 10 of their 18 in a row between 1975/1982) 3) recorded at the end of 1981, the two couples were already separated (Agnetha & Björn almost 3 years ago, Benny & Frida a few months ago) 4) the official video is very good, it shows Agnetha (with a more mature beauty) acting sober and convincing rebuilding a love life from a move 5) In my opinion it is together with "Slipping through my fingers" the best song from his latest album "The Visitors" , where the melancholy and rawness of his lyrics is most pronounced in the context of a complex album of musical exploration away from ABBA's signature pop, and an image of the four singles over the two couples You did four reaction to ABBA: two songs happiest, like Dancing Queen & Gimme gimme gimme two songs melancholic, like The winner takes it all & One of us now I suggest You go to another way, two greatest worldwide hits and beautiful ballads pop: "Fernando" (1976) or "Chiquitita" (1979) My greetings to you from Buenos Aires, Argentina South América

Sometimes when you have too many fights and arguments ( or just disagreements) you realize it’s just not meant to be. But it’s a hard decision if you love each other. You second guess your decision and want to come back, or be taken back, like the song.

ABBA were married before they were ABBA. Agnetha and Björn had a child, a breakup and a divorce. They were no teenage pop band. The group wrote songs about love, and life and indeed loss - they lived it, felt it and beautifully expressed it. No bubble gum pop group here. Talented and technically brilliant musicians, lyrics and stories told simply is why their music resonates all around the world even today.

In fact, this song lets us without words, speachless. This was written by Bjorn, and thinking on the voice of Agnetha. Who lived some situation like this, can feel all the words on this song. It's really a masterpiece, because it's inspired on true feelings, and (possibly) on a true storie.

Thanks for the reaction. It's a Swedish thing, happy music with words to make you sad. Yeah this is after the divorce. But Agnetha had her first hit with a tear jerking song at age 18. It's her favourite kind of song to do even now. But we love her for them. Better do one from when all was happy in ABBALAND next. "Ring Ring" would be nice. Thanks again.

That Swedish taste for melancholy is also shared with Russia, Poland and such. Even Argentina and parts of Brazil got a lot of it. As a Swede, I find this one rather sad in itself, even without the lyrics (which I didn't even listen to for the first 30 years). Yes, Abba usually has groovy rhythms, but not always happy chords and melody (with or without minor keys).

ABBA started 1972. The two couples are not married any longer but still dear friends. Björn (Bjoern) and Agnetha (Ang-neta), have two children together Linda and Christian and grandchildren so they meet now and then. Now this latest production VOYAGE was made in 5 weeks of hard work 8 hours aday as Björn and Benny told. They were all surprised of how easy everything was like they left the studio last week and not 1982. Since they are very talented and intelligent people they succeded with an album. I've listened to these people since the 60-ies. I'm in the same age as Benny. Björn was in The Hootenanny Singers in the 1960-ies and Benny in The Hep Stars. The girls were vocalists in separate dancebands. Anni-Frid started as a 14-year old vocalist mostly singing jazz in the beginning. Agneta was in a danceband, but has produced some recordings as soloartist too writing both notes and lyrics.
