you instantly know from their voices that this is ABBA - yes they sound more mature (Frida, who sings lead on this is 76 years old) but they are essentially the same - this is the best thing to happen in music in my lifetime - I grew up in the 70s and ABBA were everything to me and to hear Agnetha and Frida sing together after 40 years is so incredible. Jump into the ABBA wormhole and enjoy the ride (and then maybe you'll discover Kylie Minogue too - you can thank me later :) ) x

I was 14 in the mid-70s when I first heard my first song by ABBA, Mamma Mia, and I was hooked. I practically wore out several of their vinyl albums from playing them all the time. Their album Voulez-Vous was the first album that I bought on vinyl, 8 track and cassette. I was living in the San Francisco Bay Area when ABBA toured in 1979 and they played at the Concord Pavilion. Seeing them perform in person is one of my cherished memories that I will have until my last day. Now 40+ years later, to hear new music from ABBA has brought me to tears of joy. I am happy to see so many of the younger generations experiencing their music for the first time through this song.

Travis! I'm SO excited for you to go down the ABBA route! Next up should definitely be their second new single, Don't Shut Me Down! ABBA is the reason for my life for Home Free. I was a kid, in Sweden, when ABBA was first active and their music brought me tight harmonies and intricate and complex arrangements. Home Free just delivers it in a different way, right!? (Speaking of Home Free, Austin just released his cover of Tears in Heaven, you should react that one too, simply because you'll love it and it's gorgeous in every way.) Back to ABBA, though! The ladies do sound older, their voices have deepened some, but they still sound the same. They are, after all, in their 70's now. What you saw at the end, on the big stage, was the ABBAtars. Yup, they were creating a full concert experience with ABBAtars "live" on stage and a new arena is built in London for this purpose, to for the technology needed. These songs, this comeback, these concerts are healing a lot of people's childhood traumas, allowing stuck emotions to move out while at the same time moving us into the present moment and to the future, and it's absolute brilliant from a spiritual view, and completely unique. 🥰🙏💃☀️🎉

Fantastic watching your honest reaction to this quiet epic of a song. ABBA stayed true to their sound in their new recordings, and did not doctor their slightly older sounding voices which, to my ears, just adds to the beauty of the recordings. Thank you for genuinely getting how wonderful their music is. I have loved them since 1974 when I was a wee boy, and they have been the soundtrack to my life. After hearing nothing new from them as a group since 1982, I was a wreck watching these new songs during their live podcast. That incredible moment after all the nostalgia when the lights go up, THAT logo appears in lights, and their avatars suddenly appear looking much as they did c.1977/78 still does me in. I hope you do go down the rabbit hole Travis....so many gems waiting for you. For every big hit, there are 2-3 album tracks or obscure B sides just as good. You were a joy to watch...thank you.

(And before you ask: I don’t know what genre to classify Pentatonix as… because hell yeah they do harmony amazingly!) What you hear in the new songs is real: no auto-tune. They are in their mid-SEVENTIES now and sound like that. It’s beyond words. My favorite of their songs is… umh… like, a 7-way tie? ;) Here’s some to check out. There are *so* many more to choose from. Also note something which many people forget: ABBA were making music videos 7 years before MTV ever existed. Each of the following songs has a video. Early phase - Mamma Mia Middle phase - Fernando Late phase - The Day Before You Came And remember: you ROCK.

I have gotten addicted to watching "reaction" videos, especially when the final climax on stage comes and people go silent or start crying or talk about getting goosebumps. Decades ago, a music teacher of mine said "you can smile and nod and tell people you enjoyed the music, but goosebumps don't lie." BTW, if Dancing Queen is the only song you know check out their other stuff. They have a lot of sad and bittersweet songs. No one can do bittersweet like they can. That was exactly like they sounded in the past. Watch the video about them recording the song. They're in their 70s and look like they are in their 70s!

Until now two new ABBA songs have been known, both different in their themes and leading voices And both have the ABBA trademark on their solvency in musical composition and production We know the great spirit of perfection that Björn and Benny impress on their creations, and both new creatures live up to their great successes of the 80s. So the biggest mystery was to know the state of the voices of Agnetha and Frida and how they could react to the inevitable passing of the decades and their possible comparisons with previous classics. And I must also say that they both look very good And in that "look" there is an extraordinary job of caring for Björn and Benny to "take care" of their historical singers, partners and former partners. They gave them two wonderful songs, with beautiful melodies and deep lyrics, but they were also surrounded by the iconic hooks and the appeal to emotional nostalgia "I still have faith in You" is an unpublished song in its conception in the history of ABBA because it is self-referential about them as a group, and it is also testimonial, because they tell us about their experiences in all this time Musically it is a ballad with mystical and epic A stately and majestic piano, and Frida's soft voice conducts and recreates ABBA's story with poignant beauty, with Agnetha joining in some verses to emphasize The sound of the drums arrives (a nod to the mega hit "Fernando") as if preparing the change of rhythm And with a powerful guitar comes that first unpublished chorus, because this time all ABBA sings from the bowels of its history and with the strength of its testimony of life, of healing and togetherness. And in the second chorus, even stronger, it becomes very clear that ABBA sings with the passion and courage that Björn's excellent lyrics stand out, it is like a triumphant song of their survival and their bond. And it ends with a solo by Frida, flawless, with the flutes at the end Also isn't a commercial song (more than 5 minutes) it's so emotional, with a fantastic vídeo of all greatest memories of pictures, official videos of 70s songs and Australia tour ABBA really comes back at high level The world needs ABBA sound There's another new song, the fantástic uptempo "Don't shut me down", and a brand new album "Voyage" with 10 new songs recording between 2017)2021 that will be released in next November 5

Warning, it is a very deep rabbit hole. Try to react to videos and ones you don't think you have heard and maybe the odd one you remember a little. Just start from most viewed and go down. Also "Don't shut me down" is wonderful golden ABBA complete with nostalgic lyrics.

I was so excited to see you starting to check out ABBA. I have been following you since you started with Pentatonix and Home Free, so now I have even more reason to stick with you. This is like classic ABBA from the more mature phase of their career. At the start they did the more "pop-y" stuff. But for 40 year older voices, they sound amazing! They still sound just like they did 40+ years ago. My friends and I started with ABBA when they won the Eurovision contest in 1973. I have missed them so much. Their voices have gotten so much richer as they have aged. It is nice to know that they kept up their vocal skills. :o) I don't think you could go wrong with ANY song of theirs. If you want a rare funny song, try Two for the Price of One - one of the rare ones sung by the men. A haunting song is The Visitors. Another one I like is Cassandra - partly because it was released the year my daughter - named Cassandra - was born. (She was NOT named that because of the song)

Their voices have changed. Surprisingly, not as much as one would think. They sound so damn good still. I'll freely admit to getting emotional while watching this. I am old enough, that I was alive when they last released music. I gave up on hearing anything new from them again. I am so thrilled I was wrong. They haven't missed a step. I love that they sound so good still. I wish I could attend one of their concerts in England next year. Unfortunately, I am dirt poor. So that's never going to be an option.

I wonder if you noticed that at the end those were digital avatars, not the actual people.

Yo Travis - Both ABBA and PTX - no wonder i love your channel - i would love if you’d go down the ABBA rabbithole ;-) the second single, “don’t shut me down” - loooove it, kinda more regular ABBA tune - and to think, that they all are well in the 70’s ( from 71-76 years old) - keep up the good work!🤞 love from Denmark

My favorite group had been ABBA but not it's Pentatonix. Thanks for your reactions.

Frida is now 75, 76 on November 15 2021, she is not auto tuned at any point, in fact that is a no no for ABBA. Agnetha is now 71. Both apparently have a very slightly lower register. However, as an original era fan, when Frida first sang those first words, to me it was a familiar voice, singing something I had never heard. There is a video of my group of friends and I watching the actual world premiere of this, so what you see is a true “1st time” reaction. From the second chorus onwards, you were actually watching the “ABBATars”, their younger selves singing a song that was in fact recorded by them in 2017. Their album has tracks recorded in 2017, 2019 and up to August 27th of this year.

As everyone else has said in your comments. Try the other new song Don’t Shut Me Down. It’s sooooo good.
