@@vannessacrispin5140that's a phrase for people with dry scalp who can prolong the time between washes.If you have oily scalp you need to wash more often otherwise you might get scalp issues - I wash every other day and I tried that nonsense of hair training (I washed only 2x a week instead of 3-4x)and no sulphates and my hair started to fall out like crazy bc my scalp wasn't properly clean.Not to mention the itchy scalp 🙈

My hair is curlyish/wavy- but it’s more frizz than curl honestly and it tangles so easily! I cant brush it dry so i guess that contributes but i sleep on a satin pillowcase and im not rough with it. Thank you for being real with this video and not acting like those influencers or hair stylist I see on TikTok all the time who just feel like they have this moral superiority, and demonize things like coloring or using heating tools on your hair, and who says that basically you can't have amazing hair if you do any of those things, because it is a fact people use them, and will keep using them! I am someone who uses heating tools because I personally prefer how I look with straight or wavy hair rather than with my natural curls (and yes, before anyone says anything, I've tried the CGM, and I know how to style my curls, I just don't like it on me personally), so it's nice to see for once someone say that you can still have beautiful, healthy hair even when coloring your hair or using heat

I like something cooler toned because it suits my skin tone more. Worried high lift would make me quite warm?
@solfuela13933 ай бұрын
Was just asking myself the same question. I'm a soft summer and prefer neutral cool tones. High lift tints do come with cooler shades, they might not turn out as cool though. Depends on your natural hair, but you could still tone it afterwards.
@heathermccuin95553 ай бұрын
I have tried highlift blonde with 30 and 40 volume to go from a level 6 to a lighter blonde (an 8 would be nice). But it was so brassy because it lifted just enough to expose the orange and yellow pigments in my hair. Currently I use 10 volume with cream lightener and it lifts to a 9/10, past the orange stage. I still need toner afterwards. I wish there was formula that could lift my color from a 6 to an 8 or 9, but give a permanent beige, neutral or ash tone. Because I love a clean-feeling scalp, I wash every other day and toner only lasts 3 weeks.

Thank you for the hair training admission. I have said for years and years; if hair training (which is scalp) were real, people with an oily face would "train" their face to not be oily. Oil glands are oil glands, and the way they produce oil is innate -- not trained. Believe me. I have had oily skin (with severe acne) and oily hair my whole life, and I am 56. The smell of people's "trained" hair when it hasn't been washed for days makes me want to puke when I am in line behind them at the grocery or a department store. Yuck!

I also use one shampoo from the pharmacy that is for dandruff, oily hair, dermatitis and very itchy hair and it does wonders. I don't understand who washes hair once a week and not very often. My hair falls off from all the oil and if I don't dry my hair after the shower it does the same, falls a lot for being wet and causes a lot of breakage. It's common sense. Thank you. I am in Maple Grove. Would love to see your hair stylist. I have dry coarse hair. Never has my hair been oily on its own, without putting too much oil on it.

This is quite interesting! I love how you share your journey and how you have changed your haircare as you have learned more. I avoided sulfates because I have highlighted hair and most hairstylists that I’ve gone to in nyc say to avoid them to preserve color. Can you comment on that?

I'm glad people are speaking up against the clean beauty propaganda.. I enjoy my shampoos with SLES. I wish people could cut their hair when it's needed as well.. Long hair doesn't look nice if half of it is thin and stringy. I had to cut off a lot a while ago, but I rather have a little less long but full hair, than having really long stringy hair.

Hair care is important but a poor diet will impact your hair and prevent you from your goals. Meat, eggs, fish, fruit, veggies, quality dairy are your hair’s best friend (your skin, nails & body will benefit too!)

I recently went to a dermatologist and she said my hair is genetically prone to damage and there's nothing I can do about it. I suffer from hair thinning and severe breakage. I've noticed my hair breaks prematurely, it’s dry strawlike, and frizzy. But I've noticed the inner parts of my hair and my baby's hair are soft and much healthier than the outer parts. Please help me. I've tried everything from high-end to drug stores. I don't even use heat on my hair. So I no longer know whats the problem is.

I love how much knowledge and info you share.... I will say though...maybe make a disclaimer about the type of water people are washing their hair in. I have very hard water in my house. It doesn't matter what shower filter head I use or what products and techniques I use.....my hair is damaged and suffers SO much because of the hard water. It's the worst. It's dry, brittle and I have so much breakage and my hair just feels sad.

This was a great 17 minute … integration of so much of your other info you’ve shared. I’ve said it before that sometimes I learn a new thing from a video I’ve watched of yours just because my brain could only hold so much new applicable information at a time. This contained good reminders and things I already knew from you but it was a pleasant kind of … sanity check that I’m on the right track with what I’m doing. Thanks! Drop your pup’s fur routine next 🤩

Even though your hair is darker now does not mean the bleached, damaged hair is not still there, it is , it's just growing out under the colour. I know as my hair was bleached too and although still very long, has now grown out, this took almost 5 years and i did the same with my natural blond colour as you. I now have my natural hair and no colour at all, the change in condition is amazing. Good luck growing the rest of your bleach out.

Went to the drugstore to buy Dove shampoo and conditioner based on your recommendation. Holy cow! There were so many different types! I have fine curly hair and could not find anything specific so I walked out empty handed after about 45 minutes. So confusing. Would love you to add hair advice, keeping in mind different types of hair.

Really appreciate you sharing your journey to healthy hair, including mistakes made along the way 🙂 As my white/gray roots need to be colored every 5 weeks, I would appreciate any suggestions for lessening damage. I have discussed a "high lift tint" with my stylist but we both thought the end result would be too warm for my skin tone. Any suggestions?

Why does your hairstylist use 40 volume? It is 12% peroxide and seems very extreme for you with such a light dark blonde-ish base color. That is the strongest developer available. It is typically for people with hair that is resistant to color. Just wondering....
@solfuela13933 ай бұрын
Maybe there were instances of orange results with 30 volume developer on some clients and thats why..

Could you do a video about potential topical allergens in some hair products? I thought I was having a major hormonal issue, or that my hair was falling out due to dying it, etc. - went to the doctor and they said I was fine. I was using a bond-repair shampoo, condition, etc. system (one that you recommend in one of your videos, the L'oréal one), and my hair was falling out in almost clumps - finally I ended up doing a full panel allergy test, and turned out I had a topical allergy to citric acid, and the bond repair treatment was what was making my hair fallout! After a much-hated short cut to mitigate the thin hair, it's 2 years later and finally growing out - but these kinds of allergies are not talked about enough! I went through so much to find that answer - and now you can get these allergy panels as at-home tests through several options also! Would be so good for some awareness around potential allergens in case people react badly to them - you're not alone! ❤

I prefer the sulphate shampoo for cleansing but with hard water it seems to coat my hair nd scalp when it foams with the hart water and I then can’t get my conditioner or hair mask to penetrate should I just switch to sulphate free or any non lather shampoo ?

Try a chelation shampoo - that's a stronger shampoo than detox shampoo the pH is higher.I had the same problem as you.On KZbin " Mane by mell" she talks about it quite often.Redken clean cream is good.Cheap option is shampoo with citric acid or EDTA or apple cider vinegar- apparently tressemme detox shampoo is apparently a very good one,I don't have it in my country.

It's so true we have been conditioned (no pun intended) to believe all sulfates are bad. I think haircare is making strides with improving formulas so they're not as harsh and stripping so we can feel good about using them. As someone with naturally curly hair who got into the curly method a little but have since tailored it to suit my hair's needs, the method pretty much dictates to not use sulfates. That's pretty unrealistic for a curly girl like myself and others who often use a variety of stylers throughout the week and need a deep cleanse with a clarifying shampoo with sulfates to remove the buildup. New subscriber and I'm really liking your content.
