@deboratron4 күн бұрын
@@benistheproblem all of these products can also be used on virgin hair. The idea of “virgin hair” is only regarding whether it has been dyed. All hair is subject to damage just by everyday wear and tear. If you’ve ever worn your hair down or put it up in a ponytail, you have some amount of damage
@StephanieP34 күн бұрын

healthy virgin hair doesn't need lots of products. A simple wash, condition and if blow drying just a light leave in. Keep it simple. I use a light texture spray if I'm going to be curling my hair and want it to hold for a night out but most of the time just a simple leave in works fine. For a moment, I thought KZbin had deleted my comment or taken down your video. Hey Abbey, I recently visited a dermatologist, and she informed me that my hair is genetically predisposed to damage, and there's little I can do about it. I'm struggling with hair thinning and severe breakage. I've observed that my hair breaks easily ( prematurely), and feels dry, straw-like, and frizzy. Interestingly, I've noticed that the inner parts of my hair and my baby's hair are softer and healthier than the outer parts. I've tried everything from high-end products to drugstore options, and I don't even use heat on my hair. At this point, I'm at a loss as to what the problem might be. ( just reposting my comment 😅)

I think you would use it the same way she uses that Living Proof Bond treatment, leave it on for the 10 minutes then do your next step with products you use. That’s what I do. I have both of them and alternate on wash days.

My hair feels softest/silkiest/lightest when it's freshly washed, and then as it gets dirtier it doesn't ever LOOK oily or dirty, it just gets rougher. I swear I could never wash it and it would never look oily/dirty, the texture would just get worse and worse. When my hair gets rough and dry, I try to add oil to it (like a little bit of the olaplex oil or bumble and bumble to the lengths and ends before bed) but it actually gets ROUGHER? No matter what I do, my hair ends up looking dry and damaged a few days after I wash it, but then when I wash it again it's restored. I've never seen anyone else talk about this, did you read about it in your trichology course and do you know what to do?

Same here! Maybe our hair just needs more regular conditioning! I think I might trial wetting my hair and reconditioning in between wash days to combat this.

Same 😅 My hair from ears downwards is like a birds nest after a few days. Like you, it doesn't really look greasy or dirty. I literally just wash it to recondition it! That's why I think we should take the social media "wash once a week" advice with a pinch of salt. I wash mine twice a week now for the reconditioning!

Great video. I have been binge watching many of your videos and some multiple times. Would you mind doing an updated porosity video. I have been oiling my hair and using protein bond products, and cleansing each wash but have not seen any improvement. It's been at least 3 months and my hair still is thin, brittle and not growing. I did the porosity test where you put your hair in water - mine floats. But yet my hair is very thin, gets wet easily and dries fairly quickly. Need help. Keep up with the great content.

Hi Abbey! Would your routine change much if you were to air dry your hair?

Can you please recommend some scientific proven leave in products for curly rough dry damaged hair . I will highly appreciate your recommendation 🙏🏻

My sister has had good results with Cantu products. The products are targeted towards African Americans with fine curls, but works great in her thick, coarse curly hair. We are Hispanic and I ended up with very straight hair, so I can't speak for the products myself.

Is there a way we could test the heat protection of products? I kind of don’t trust some of them.

For serums and oils with bond repair ingredients, can these ingredients work on dry hair? Or is it best to apply when when hair is still damp?

So when the question was asked “if my leave has heat protectant, should I still use more?” You said you don’t believe so. Then later you said for dry ironing you use living proof. So I’m confused because that is a heat protectant for dry hair before ironing.

Do you use conditioner in the shower then put on the living proof, or no conditioner? No one ever answers this question.
@iah83314 күн бұрын
Yes, she uses conditioner or mask in the shower and Living Proof after. Abbey never goes without conditioner. I can't speak to what the instructions say to do.
