@@benistheproblem all of these products can also be used on virgin hair. The idea of “virgin hair” is only regarding whether it has been dyed. All hair is subject to damage just by everyday wear and tear. If you’ve ever worn your hair down or put it up in a ponytail, you have some amount of damage

healthy virgin hair doesn't need lots of products. A simple wash, condition and if blow drying just a light leave in. Keep it simple. I've loved a lot of Abbey's product recommendations but as she mentions, you do have to tweak her approach if your hair is not fine/oily like hers. My coarse (wavy) grey hair, requires heavier conditioning and heat protection to avoid drying it out, so I spray or pour the leave-in conditioner on my hands and (using praying hands method) slide down a section of wet hair (you don't want to towel dry textured hair). Using a smaller amount, yes, I then apply leave-in to the hair on top of my head because that section of grey hair is easily damaged by diffusing and by the sun's UV rays. I also gently comb or brush my hair afterwards to distribute the product. You can wait until after applying curl cream/gel too, since those products will give your hair even greater slip and be less likely to damage it by brushing. Lastly, I also use hair oil after my hair is diffused and dry. I LOVE her recommendation of B&B's Invisible Oil since it also offers UV protection. If you color your hair, UV rays fade vibrant colors and if you have grey hair, UV rays can turn it yellow (hard water too).

I just started following Abbey and now I'm binge watching her videos 😄 so for Abbey and/or those of you who are here for longer - I have a question regarding after-washing haircare. Is it OK to use some kind of leave-in spray as a part of a routine (for example, every night before bed or every morning before going out for work)? She did answer a question about oils, but I was wondering about using some kind of a spray as a daily hair care routine. Before blow drying I use the one my hairdresser uses in her hair salon (10 in 1, similar to the one from Revlon in red spray bottle), so it can but it doesn't have to be that particular one. My hair - fine in structure, but thick overall, currently pretty healthy. I wash it once a week as it is not that oily in scalp, but I am reconsidering that decision due to some tips Abbey has provided on why it could be a bad idea (aka more prominent hair loss over time). Why I would like to use something routinely is because of the harsh weather conditions in the winter where I live and as a way to nurture my hair while sleeping (like I do with my skin). I'm thinking of purchasing a satin/silk cap for sleeping and/or overnight curls, so let me know if it could be a good idea to prevent hair breakage during sleep. Thank you in advance ❤️

One question I have is product-specific- In your video where you showed the lab results from different bond repair products, living proof came out basically at the bottom in terms of results. I assumed at the time that you may change your routine to exclude this product based on those findings, but obviously you haven't. I'm just wondering what about the product makes you feel you still need to use it. I know it does have some amount of heat protection itself, but just wanted to know. I tried it and didn't feel like it did anything for me personally
@AbbeyYung2 ай бұрын
So the results from that video basically confirmed that there was no way to know for sure which treatment was best with SEM because you don't have the same exact starting point for each hair strand / product. The best way for brands to demonstrate bond repair efficacy is with tensile strength testing, which Living Proof has done! But the reason I kept it in my routine at that point is because of my personal experience / results with it.

I have chin length, fine thin hair - I don't use leave in conditioner because my hair is SUPER easily weighed down and I can't use much before getting sticky. Would my heat protectant be enough? I use Kerastase thermique heat protectant, and after wash day I rub like 1 drop of oil in my hands and run through my ends.
@ninalou4629Ай бұрын
Depends on which kerastase heat protectant. The nutritive spray or lotion doubles as leave in.

I love your videos! Thank you so much for always being so thorough!! II'd love it if you could do a video on products that have come out for graying hair. I have seen some that claim to reverse graying, and I'd love to hear your expert opinion on whether or not that could ever work (I'm guessing the answer is no). I'd also love to hear your advice for how to best care for gray hair; for instance, should it be treated as if it is dry/damaged? I know that you're too young to have gray hair, but I'd still love to hear your thoughts regarding the science behind graying and the products that supposedly help aging hair. Thank you!!

I've heard that if you're gonna blow dry the hair, one of those leave ins with heat protection included is fine to use.. But if you're gonna use flat or curling iron, you need a dedicated heat protection product. That's just what I've heard..

I would like to know the real science behind heat protecting sprays/products. How do they really work? What tests have been conducted to confirm a product offers real protection? I don’t understand how they protect when my hair still responds to heat.

I’m glad you posted this because I’ve been feeling like the Color Fanatic LIC spray I have been using is too heavy for my naturally wavy but fine hair. Do you have any suggestions for a very light weight LIC?

I have fine wavy hair and I also find the Pureology leave-in conditioner too heavy unless my hair is just extra dry. I prefer the Redken One United leave-in conditioner. It never weighs down my hair.

You say to wait for hair to be 80-90% dry before blow drying, what if it starts to get frizzy and wavy by then and it’s harder to get it straighter or blow out look??? What’s the best way to get a blow out without damage for wavy hair

My hair is past my collarbone, at least 6-8 in shorter than your hair I guess...? And I am wondering if 2 pumps of my eva NYC leave in or 4 pumps of my eva NYC leave in is appropriate. Usually I just pump as I go, I pump once -- apply to one section of my hair, and then pump again and apply to the other section. It's wash day so today I will try 4 pumps, and I will try rubbing my hands together and that should help me from overusing it!

Great video. I have been binge watching many of your videos and some multiple times. Would you mind doing an updated porosity video. I have been oiling my hair and using protein bond products, and cleansing each wash but have not seen any improvement. It's been at least 3 months and my hair still is thin, brittle and not growing. I did the porosity test where you put your hair in water - mine floats. But yet my hair is very thin, gets wet easily and dries fairly quickly. Need help. Keep up with the great content.

I LOVE the Camel Glow hair growth oil. I could never grow my baby hairs out before but I've been using it consistently for a year and seeing massive improvement regarding thickness and new hair growth. Also switching your parting and being mindful about tight hair styles can help. And a temporary fix is using hair fibre sprays to cover the thinning spots. Hope that helps!

I'm interested in the gold gloss but need to know how bad if at all the smell really is before spending $38.00 on a bottle. Also, does is leach onto pillows and sheets?
