@deboratron3 ай бұрын
@@benistheproblem all of these products can also be used on virgin hair. The idea of “virgin hair” is only regarding whether it has been dyed. All hair is subject to damage just by everyday wear and tear. If you’ve ever worn your hair down or put it up in a ponytail, you have some amount of damage

healthy virgin hair doesn't need lots of products. A simple wash, condition and if blow drying just a light leave in. Keep it simple. I use a light texture spray if I'm going to be curling my hair and want it to hold for a night out but most of the time just a simple leave in works fine. Rather than scrunching product in, I take my hair in two sections, half over one shoulder, and kinda bend over a bit, and put my hair between my hands in like prayer hands and pull down the strands (pancaking the hair). I've loved a lot of Abbey's product recommendations but as she mentions, you do have to tweak her approach if your hair is not fine/oily like hers. My coarse (wavy) grey hair, requires heavier conditioning and heat protection to avoid drying it out, so I spray or pour the leave-in conditioner on my hands and (using praying hands method) slide down a section of wet hair (you don't want to towel dry textured hair). Using a smaller amount, yes, I then apply leave-in to the hair on top of my head because that section of grey hair is easily damaged by diffusing and by the sun's UV rays. I also gently comb or brush my hair afterwards to distribute the product. You can wait until after applying curl cream/gel too, since those products will give your hair even greater slip and be less likely to damage it by brushing. Lastly, I also use hair oil after my hair is diffused and dry. I LOVE her recommendation of B&B's Invisible Oil since it also offers UV protection. If you color your hair, UV rays fade vibrant colors and if you have grey hair, UV rays can turn it yellow (hard water too).

I just started following Abbey and now I'm binge watching her videos 😄 so for Abbey and/or those of you who are here for longer - I have a question regarding after-washing haircare. Is it OK to use some kind of leave-in spray as a part of a routine (for example, every night before bed or every morning before going out for work)? She did answer a question about oils, but I was wondering about using some kind of a spray as a daily hair care routine. Before blow drying I use the one my hairdresser uses in her hair salon (10 in 1, similar to the one from Revlon in red spray bottle), so it can but it doesn't have to be that particular one. My hair - fine in structure, but thick overall, currently pretty healthy. I wash it once a week as it is not that oily in scalp, but I am reconsidering that decision due to some tips Abbey has provided on why it could be a bad idea (aka more prominent hair loss over time). Why I would like to use something routinely is because of the harsh weather conditions in the winter where I live and as a way to nurture my hair while sleeping (like I do with my skin). I'm thinking of purchasing a satin/silk cap for sleeping and/or overnight curls, so let me know if it could be a good idea to prevent hair breakage during sleep. Thank you in advance ❤️

Hi Abbey, have you ever tried Shu Uemura hair care? Their red mask, the Color Lustre one, saved my sister’s super damaged hair. She does do the coconut oiling and the K18, but every single time she uses that mask, her hair is incredibly and noticeably better! It’s so expensive though lol But I was wondering if you had an opinion on it and the ingredients. They also came out with a new leave-in from that line and was wonderful if it’d be worth trying out.

Love your videos ! I‘m still conscious about silicones and polymers - not because I doubt the proven benefits for hair it‘s more about the environmental impact. Could you make a video or share information about that? Would be amazing 🙏🏼

Thank you so much for your valuable input! How do you get your lovely curls/waves? I struggle to find a way without using my shark styler. Much love!

Great info as usual. All of my leave in conditioners are high end so I thought I would try one of your drugstore recommendations. I was astonished that not one of them is available in Canada.

You're kidding! That shocks me too. I would bet that they have some similar products from brands like L'Oreal... that's a safe place to start!

Can you make a video for people who wash their hair more regularly, like every day or every other day?

Abbey, Re: layering products…I love the Pureology leave-in and also Olaplex 6 and 9 leave-ins, so I often layer products. But I always wonder if you’re using a product with silicones, will anything you use after that absorb into the hair? Or does the silicone form a barrier that nothing else will then penetrate?

I have 2A, wavy, low density, dry, frizzy hair. I need to put leave-in all the way up to the roots because it’s dry /frizzy up there too, and I have wild/messy baby hairs My hair hated the Living Proof and Pureology I’ve also used IGK Good behavior Bumble and Bumble leave-in Pantene Miracle Rescue L’oréal 21 in 1 My hair didn’t hate these as much but they didn’t leave my hair soft, shiny, moisturized, frizz and tangle free. The only one I haven’t tried is Not Your Mothers If anyone has any suggestions. I have tried so many others not on this list and still do not have my leave-in holy grail. I’m at a loss.

If you are wearing your hair wavy, I highly recommend Olaplex No 9 Serum for this! I have very similar hair type and my hair loves this as a leave in.
@iah83313 ай бұрын
@@pattyrobberson4152 I have not tried that, thanks so much. I dont necessarily purposely try to wear it wavy. I just air dry. I don’t scrunch and do all the things.

The Pureology leave-in conditioner is also too heavy for my fine wavy hair. I prefer the Redken One United leave-in conditioner.

@@Courtannica Not any of their leave-ins. Do they have a good one ?

I've heard that if you're gonna blow dry the hair, one of those leave ins with heat protection included is fine to use.. But if you're gonna use flat or curling iron, you need a dedicated heat protection product. That's just what I've heard..

Hey Abbey, what are your thoughts on the the “leave your conditioner in your hear and towel dry it” method??
