watch u for the first time. As a hair dresser i want it to say something might people don’t know please clean hot tools every time after u use it. The hair stuck in the brush every time u turn the brush on it’s going to burn and damage ur hair and the brush both. Tnx for this review it was very good🤙

The rise isn't supposed to be brushed through the hair like the other ones, its bristles are meant for gripping not combing. Think of it as a curling iron but safer, because there are bristles that stop the rod from touching your skin and burning you. It's supposed to be used on dry hair because it's just a styler, not a hot air dryer. You either just volumise or curl with it. For volume you lift your section hair, place it at the roots and drop your hair back down over it, then lift the hair back off when you're done, don't try to brush it out. For curl you wrap the section of hair around it and then unwrap it when done, don't try to pull it through your hair or it'll rip out

Thanks for discussing the difference between the paddle and the round brush. I have long, super thick hair, so I don't need any volume. I also have a tough head, so it sounds like the paddle is the one for me.

A long time ago those all in one hot brushes were in fashion but I though they just didn't have the right smooth finish that I wanted. Now I just prefer the round brushes, they're very versatile (you can do a lot of different styles, straight, flipped ends, beachy waves, classic voluminous curls, etc) and it takes me 20 minutes anyways now. It takes a little while to learn but it's very cheap and the most fun because I like to change my hair often.

The new Revlon has the smaller profile and is detachable but I got the original about a year ago and love it. I have no trouble getting volume at the roots and I use the knob on the end all the time. I also paid $50 Canadian from Walmart for mine. I was and blowout once a week, currently on day 4 and still have sleek hair with volume. I couldn't be happier as it took less than 15 minutes with soft sleek tangle free hair instead of an hour with a straightener that leaves damage. The more I do it, the less time it takes. For reference, my hair is about 2 feet long, caramel brown and medium coarse wavy with a tendency to curl at the bottom so I'm not starting with pin straight hair.

I honestly really love the revlon one. I have a lot of hair and always work in layers and sections and haven't had a problem getting all my hair dry and voluminous. I do wish it had a smaller barrel just because my hands are so small but overall I do like it.

I bought the hot tools one step styler off of Amazon (without the changeable heads)and that one has gaps for your hair can get caught in. I'm not sure if it's a fake product or just that hot tools version is one to avoid. I've had to cut pieces of my hair out of that version. Just a warning for anyone looking to purchase that version!

Great reviews! I was thinking of getting the Revlon tool but other reviewers mentioned it does get very, very hot. That put me off a bit. But after seeing this review I think the Hot Tools brush is going to be a better option. I haven’t used the GDH tool, but I have seen people with pixie/very short shaggy top hair cuts use it. For those short lengths it seems to do a great job, so must be just an issue with longer length hair.

Hi Abbey doll! LOOOOOOVE your videos!! I'm pretty well versed in hair, I have thick full brunette hair the same length as yours. I have tried the ROSS Pro and just switched it the Hot Tools one...I must be the ONLY person 😭that does not like the dual or "One Step" styler's b/c I do NOT get the results that I see all over these reviews! Was hoping for some long hair success with this video b/c many of the reviews are on shorter hair, but even this one I don't see an immense amount of volume or bevel on your hair (mind you speaking from a budget and maneuvering standpoint). Even with an arsenal of heat and styling products I still have to go in with a straightener after, for that final glossy result! IMO these would seem fantastic for short hair and really does leave behind beautiful ✨volume and bounce. My long ass heavy tresses do not exhibit the same result. Its A LOT of wrestling💪 for vary vary little reward and for the $$$, I think Ill stick to my round brush and blow-dryer as I have not experienced so much of a benefit to endure the expenditure and the maneuvering of such a large tool that is supposed to give an illusion of a "pro blowout" I can do better with my 2. Definitely picked up some tips with your 1st style (curling). Question, how did you dry your hair before the curling? What's your opinion on heated curlers? Thanks so much doll! ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I would love to see you review the Amika hair dryer to see how it compares to the Hot Tools. (I just watched your review on the Amika hair masks, which I definitely want to try now.) I’ve been contemplating trying their dryer for a while now but not quite ready to pull the trigger. It’s funny I just switched this year from using the dryer brush to an actual blow dryer with barrel brush after like 20 years lol it takes me forever to dry my hair too, my hair is very similar to yours except mine is not quite as long. I only switched because I felt kind of childish for using the dryer brush, but I guess that’s a little ridiculous. Maybe I felt that way because I started using one a 10 so I figure now I’m almost 30 I better use a real blow dryer like an adult 🥸 So weird. Anyway love your content I’ve bought so many things off your Amazon store, I’m waiting for the black silky sleep headdress or whatever it’s called, super excited for that 😆 it’s 1am and I absolutely should be sleeping but I’ve been binge watching your channel all day like a Netflix special and now leaving an absurdly long comment on this video................. Ok that’s enough.

The Revlon and Hot Tools are made by the same company. I've had both of these and I prefer the HT version. The Revlon dried my hair OK but it was just too hot and it fell apart (the bristles came out)within 6 months. Revlon did replace it but I opted to purchase a HT since it was supposed to be better quality. I did like it better but it also had tech issues, it started making a weird popping noise. This was also replaced by Helen of Troy but these dryers don't seem to be well made. My hair does look really nice but seriously, they should last longer.

I bought the GHD rise after I watched ALL the videos and despite what others mentioned about “pulling” “get stuck”. I’ve been using curlers all my life and I figured I just needed to be careful. Well, I used it for one week and returned it immediately even though I got it for a discounted price at Neiman. I hate it so much. My hair couldn’t glide smoothly that thing was pulling my hair no matter how small of a section and how well I comb it. Horrible tool😞 Although the result was pretty but it’s not worth it.

I feel like the Hot Tools grabs the hair a little better than the Revlon, but I found that it heated up a lot more than the Revlon too which was a bit annoying. Both great, but if you are in Australia (like I am) get the Hot Tools. It’s easier to get. I purchased my Revlon last year from the U.K as we have the same voltage
