Jacob genuinely likes those things. He’s always bringing up his experiences in black culture & spaces but they shut him down because of the way it comes out. In a few episodes it will make A LOT more sense.

Yeah, it’s cause they think he’s annoying but you can tell he is genuine about it, but he’s just so extra all the time.

Just binged the 1st 2 seasons and just now watching reviews of the show. Jacob & Barbara actually have all those things in common but have never hung out 1 on 1 to discover them, until this episode. Remember how everyone always cuts Jacob off when he goes to tell a story or explain something. They discovered they both like gardening, although kinda bad at it, and all the other common interests piled on from there

Great reaction! I believe the episode was meant to show how much Jacob , Barbara and (unintentionally ) Gregory had in common. Jacob has shown interest in a lot of black media…he just always takes it too far lol can’t wait for episode 8 my favorite!!!
