Planned Parenthood (and even some Christians groups whom fight against abortion) both agree that girls who have been raped should have the right to have an abortion. I absolutely disagree. I was raped when I was 15, and had never even been with a guy... Being used like that was more than just traumatic. It changed me. I felt violated; my virginity and innocence were stolen from me, my care free days of young womanhood were gone, and I lost valuable educational opportunity, that through dedication and hard work I had earned... I had big plans for my life! In one 10 minute act, that was perpetuated against me, my life was forever altered, and I had no idea what I was going to do. But there was one thing that sustained me and that was the innocent life growing within me; a tiny boy that needed his mother in order to live... He needed me. Contrary to what abortion activists will tell you, rather than the pregnancy destroying you, it actually heals you. Especially after rape. Looking into the eyes of your beautiful baby for the first time, gives you purpose, and the opportunity to bring good out of something bad. Rape violates a young women in many ways, but giving birth, giving life to a precious child, your child, fulfills you. Is what happened to the young woman fair? Of course not, but who ever said life was fair? Cancer isn't fair, the death of a loved one, whom died far too young, isn't fair... But dealing with life's hardships, and taking advantage of life sustaining support, brings healing, and even a joy you would have never known, if you had chosen the option of death. Taking another life, will not and cannot ever make up for the things you lost in your own life. Choose life, for yourself and your child, and you will never be sorry you made that choice.
@jenhawkins59805 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for being brave and allowing your child to live, allowing yourself to be healed. Abortion has been compared to *surgical* rape; it is as intimately brutal as the initial violation, if not more so. Your resilience, your refusal to undergo further trauma, is inspiring.

@Eithan S speaking of air, isn’t it amazing that at least two things we can’t see are required for our existence: air and gravity. Oh, make it three: God.
@poliincredible7704 жыл бұрын
@Eithan S uh-oh, maybe you’re not aware, but name calling is usually the last resort of a person who doesn’t have any facts to back his argument. So we destroyed the invisibility argument, next up is detectability. You say air is detectable, so is God. We don’t detect him using the same method we use to detect air, but we don’t detect air in the same way we detect gravity. So how do we detect God? Well we would have to consult the documented testimonies of those who have encountered him to find out what types of things they did in order to experience or encounter God. Prayer, meditation, Bible study, and worship are among the ways people have reported experiencing God. So you’re saying God is not real? No one has EVER proved that. Mainly because it’s impossible to prove something that exists to be nonexistent. Based on the fact that the universe is expanding we know it had a beginning. So what was it that began the universe? An intelligent, all-powerful being would make sense. Erase him and we’re left with atheistic magic: 1) Everything from nothing 2) Life from non living matter 3) The immaterial (thoughts and emotions) rising from material. Where does this magic come from? Theists believe in intelligence. Don’t be an intelligence denier; accept Christ.

Love Abby Johnson's work and story, and I'm very much pro-life. It's too bad she decided to discredit herself before the speech really got off by repeating internet myths about Margaret Sanger kzbin.info/www/bejne/nmW1pp-FZtmriKM. Abby says "she often worked with Hitler," when in fact Sanger never met him and openly opposed the Nazi's and donated to anti-Nazi organizations. Sanger was indeed a eugenicist, but not based on race. Sanger also never called negros the weeds; she was talking about "defective stock" (mentally or physically deformed people) being weeds, and this was where her eugenics came into play. If you read Sanger's writings she was very passionate about birth control to prevent abortion; indeed her early pamphlets urged women to prevent life rather than to kill it.

It is a pity that having praying parents does not seem to prevent Abby Johnson from spreading falsehoods as much of what she says about Sanger are distortions of what we know or is/was taken out of context with the purpose to defame Sanger. It is a shame that some people feel that arguing their case requires such things. It doesn't make your case stronger when you are either committed to parroting lies or too lazy to look up what occurred. To lie or to be lazy? Which of the two shall we attribute to having praying parents?
@patsaxon52845 жыл бұрын
You are so right, Margaret Sanger created the American Birth Control Leage (Which later changed to Planned Parenthood) in 1921, as a nurse assistsing the poor in the ghettos, she witness women who had commited their own abortion, due to not being able to afford any more children and wanted to educate poor women about the alternatives with using birth control. Margaret Sanger never felt abortion was safe, regardless of how advanced medical procedures are today. Margaret Sanger fought for women's rights to birth control, not abortion. If it was not for Margaret Sanger, birth control would still be illegal today.
