After teaching first and second grades for years, I'm now teaching Kindergarten. This video represents so well how difficult yet important the work of a Kindergarten teacher really is. Good job, and thanks for sharing this with the rest of us.

Hi Greg. I just love your teaching style. I so enjoy everything you say and do. All of your tools and teaching materials. I do have a question. What did you use to attach your chime devise to the the lanyard? I did purchase the set and so excited to use it in the classroom. Thank you!

What kind of phonics curriculum you recommend to use with this ABC teaching strategy ? Our school doesn't have a specific curriculum to follow. I would appreciate any feedback.

Can't believe you let all the children continuously call out.
@gregsmedley5 жыл бұрын
You do realize this is the THIRD day of school and we're learning procedures and rules? I also don't mind them calling out because as adults we don't raise our hands to speak. Thanks for the comment.

All the comments seemed to be appropriate and on task. And they only responded when he asked a general question. The kiddos seemed to be engaged throughout the lesson.

It’s better than having only one student answer. Having only one student answer the question only allows him to know that that one student is correct. You get a pretty good feel if the kids are getting it when they all speak. I do the same in my class but I use a hand signal for them to know it’s ok to “blurt” the answer together. It’s impossible to have kids raise their hands perfectly on the third day. I just went from 5th to first grade and finding it so different!!!!! I have a new respect for lower grade teachers. I have been learning a lot watching the morning meeting videos. You teach your kids amazing respect and model it too. I will be trying out the number game tomorrow. My class enjoyed taking off one shoe and putting it in the center of the circle. They said good morning to the student whose shoe was the match of the one they picked. Funny stuff. Thanks for posting your videos. I’m learning a lot from them.
