The brand new episode that I watched at the time was lost in space parts 1 and 2 and the first episode of Family Matters was the mama that came to dinner.

@@kblixt Ah okay. I thought it was called something different in 1989 and TGIF started in September of 1990. That is because I remember the cartoon mice for the autumn 1989 lineup and they stopped using them a year later. I just looked it up and that was TGIF as well. Going off a 34 year memory here. I was 11 at the time. Great time to watch television at that age.

It only aired one time on TGIF. The first night. After that they moved it to another night and put Just the Ten of Us in the Time slot.
