By Allison Jess and Gaye Pattison. Dr Karl was about two-years-old when he and his parents arrived from Sweden in the early 1950s. The Kruszelnickis lived at Bonegilla for a couple of years before settling in Wollongong.

I am 67 and going to visit this place after 60years. My first home as well back in 1962, I just hope I can remember some things.

Lived in one of those rooms for 8 months with my parents and sister before moving to East Hills Migrant centre in 1952/53. My parents had some resolve but the best thing they ever did.

Hot in the summer cold in the winter, what do you think it was like in the average working class home in those days ?

HI I was there with my mother father and brother in 1958, arriving in Melbourne after being shipwrecked on the Skaubryn, being rescued at sea, staying 2 weeks in Aden, and continuing our journey on the Johan van Oldenbarneveld. everything that happened after that was boring of course!!!! [ Only joking] Shalom to us only in Christ Yeshua.

Lovely film memory. I lived there for 5 years, my parents for 7, as they worked in the hospital. I remember lamb and potatoes. Was also there in the 1950s. Wrote a book about my early memories 'To Bonegilla from Somewhere' (Connor Court: 2012) if it may be of interest. www.connorcourtpublishing.com.au/To-Bonegilla-from-Somewhere--Wanda-Skowronska_p_109.html
