Wow! It's amazing how you can instantly go back in time when something stood out as much as Jack Palance's voice and the amazing opening credits that I last saw when I was 7 years old. Loved this show!

MASSIVE nostalgia bomb! I watched RIPLEYS religiously every Sunday night on ABC...that opening theme takes me right back to my childhood. Thanks for posting this!

But I could see that, if the Nielsens were of indication, you wouldn't have offset the ratings "60 Minutes" amassed, week after week . . . unless it was football season . . .

I like watching this show because I am a huge fan of this 80's version of Believe it or not starring Jack Palance. This show is so cool.

The 3:00 Movie ( aka The Big Show and The 3:30 Movie ) aired on WLS from 1962 - 1984. The syndicated version of Jeopardy took some of that time slot beginning in September of 1984( where it still airs) . Later joined by Inside Edition in 1989. Several times during the season the movie and later Jeopardy and Inside Edition were pre- empted by The ABC After School Specials from 1972-97.

"The Renault holds at least one trump card over it's competitors!" Those trump cards weren't enough, apparently. Got undersold by American manufacturers because of their war against cheap JDM imports, thus stopping any Renault sales in North America.

45:39 How many times did Bryan Clark pull the ol' coffee switcheroo at Tavern on the Green? You'd think people would have gotten wise to it at some point.

Cathie Shirriff (as she was mostly known; a Canadian actress-model, they "formalized" her billing here) didn't last past the first season on this show, ultimately replaced by Mr. Palance's daughter Holly. Raise your hand if you remember Ms. Shirriff, and for what . . . For me, the "Torch Lady" CPT logo with Coca-Cola is my main remembrance of this series.

Holly left after the 3rd season, replaced by Marie Osmond
@wmbrown67 күн бұрын
@@tomservo56954 - Makes one wonder how much of an ego Jack had behind the scenes, if neither Ms. Shirriff nor his own daughter lasted that long as his co-host on this show. Apparently, for one segment he and his crew were even kicked out of the town they were filming in because he wouldn't sign autographs. Insofar as Marie . . . I reckon Jack was no Donny Osmond . . .
@tomservo569547 күн бұрын
@@wmbrown6 I believe Holly left the show to take a film role (she played Robin Williams' wife in THE BEST OF TIMES)

@@tomservo56954 - Hmm. That puts a different light on things, then. I've never heard of that film, though . . .
