This week is Fritz's 90th birthday. Friday nights was the one night i didn't have a bedtime as i was allowed to stay up with Dad and watch Night Owl Theater. Great memories.

The announcer saying what time it was is one of the reasons I miss good old antenna, broadcast, small market television. Even HBO went off the air after midnight when it first came out. Now we're over-saturated with pretty much anything and everything 24/7/365 which is kinda sad, unless you're surrendering yourself to THE VIDEODROME lol

I have a few of the older movies here. Movies such as Long Walk to Daylight, Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, Willard, Ben, and etc. I have fond memories of watching Chiller Theater with Fritz the Night Owl.

Johnathan Haze just passed away last month at 95 years old.

How about some Nite Owl Double Chiller next time?😊

Jackie Joseph was married to Ken Berry from 1960 ( prior to the film's release) to 1976. She also was on The Doris Day Show from 1971-73. She made appearances in episodes of The Dick van Dyke Show, The Andy Griffith Show and Hogan's Heroes. Amongst other projects. Recently she celebrated her 91st birthday.

Hmm. Besides Ms. Joseph and Jack Nicholson, who else among the cast would still be amongst us (given what was noted about Mr. Haze's recent death)?

This original “Little Shop Of Horrors” would later remade into a musical film from 1986 that starred Rick Moranis

Quite a "bonus" indeed. As for the "I Believe" intro and outro, I think it was Fritz the Night Owl himself.

Fritz was a staff announcer at 10TV and well as a disk jockey on WBNS radio. There’s a recording of him from the radio in ‘68 here on KZbin.

You keep digging deep, my man! The sign-off sequence at the end of the movie was posted previously. If I recall correctly it may have been on one of Pannoni's many channels that was taken down. Great to see it back, along with this full aircheck.

Yeah, this tape came from the collection of the (sadly, late) Joe D’Angelo - he likely posted the sign off but not the whole movie. Rest in Peace, Joe. ♥️

@FuzzyMemoriesTV D'Angelo...gotta wonder if Joe (RIP) was from Columbus, and if he was connected to Gene D'Angelo-who ran WBNS-TV for many years and was the father of actress Beverly D'Angelo. Or if that were coincidental...

No, I don’t think there was any relation. He was just a fellow KZbinr and vintage broadcast enthusiast.

The very same Fritz the Nite Owl who did the opening and closing v/o for WBNS 10TV sermonette "I Believe..." and a couple of years later did the v/o for WBNS 10TV sign-on (beginning of broadcast day)/sign-off (ending of broadcast day).

Notice for "I Believe...," space could only allow "voiceover by Fritz."

Regarding the end: Didn't realize how trippy Muzak was. Also, I remember hearing a lot about Qube back then.
