I work in real estate and we don't have a housing shortage, we have an affordability issue. Most builders that I see have PLENTY of sitting inventory but nobody can afford to go from a $1500-$2500 rental payment into a $4000+ mortgage while still feeding their families. Consumer goods are still quite expensive. On top of that, insurance rates have been rising across the board and we still have the most expensive gas prices from what I am aware

I agree with you we do not have a housing shortage. However, the prices are way too high. The prices need to come down. I purchased my single family home in Santa Barbara California in 1984 120,000. Also, there are too many Airbnb vacation rentals that could be stopped so they could be used as regular rentals. However, again, the prices may be too high for most people.

No, they aren't. I've had HOAs from 1976 to 1989. Then 1995 to currently. Two different counties. I pay quarterly. It keeps people who want to be slobs, and want to do whatever they want in their front yards, under control. Those of us who want our yards and homes to look nice, appreciate the HOAs. Others can move if they don't like it.

Sounds like you are the HOA of your community. Do you give out notices if someone puts their garbage out on the curb to early? Do you have to ask permission to paint my house a certain color? That's a nope for me, if I bought it there is no way some neighbor that finally has the power over something gets to make that decision. Don't feel bad my auto insurance has gone up almost double for liability coverage only. I have not had a claim since 1984 . A claim I might add was denied by AAA insurance. I believe they are increasing their profits in the auto insurance pool while they are withdrawing from the homeowners insurance in California. Your homeowner's insurance went up not because companies stopped doing business in the state, but because your prior rates were not sufficient to address the cost of labor, construction, and material. Rates in CA have been artificially lowered by actions of the State for years and are starting to catch up to where they realistically have to be in order to ensure the premium funds that pay out for claims remain solvent in the face of rising costs. If you don't like it, move somewhere else. None of you commenting on this have a clue about how insurance actually works in the state apparently.

Raising minimum wage is proven to lower the income of the average person across the board so that would stop going up. I would make it much harder to be homeless, less money for the homeless not more will force people back into the work place, he keeps signing bills that raise taxes and the money does not go toward housing for homeless so that would go. I know people who draw plans for buildings and they will hold the building plans up for months and years to make sure rain water is captured and electricity is all solar powered which we CANNOT manage at this time and we should be going to nuclear power. I would fix the insurance industry by making less regulation, i work in insurance and my career has been destroyed and most insurance companies have left because the insurance companies have the MOST INSANE time getting plans through, it will take 3 years to get things through so they all left also they force insurance companies to give coverage for areas they dont want to cover. I would be way tougher on crime, not less tough on crime "because its racist". Honestly I could go on for hours and hours about how evil this man is but ill stop. The governor and other state lawmakers set aside $5.2 billion to help Californians pay their back rent. Another $2 billion has been set aside to help people pay their delinquent utility bills. But both initiatives, mired in delays and confusing or complex applications, have struggled to get money out the door. What we need is a good governor, regardless of party, and a good set of lawmakers. Our problems are not just wrapped up in a single individual, but by unnecessary red tape and beauracracy.

Making it more difficult for criminals to fraudulently obtain home deeds from innocent homeowners by notifying the homeowners via mails, email, and phone calling and have a 60-days waiting period before a home deed can be transferred? Making it illegal for car dealerships to add $5000 “dealership fee” or “manager fee”?

Actually when you include the property damage and the actual loss of the converter on some cars it can be $5,000 dollars or more . . Any of these older Toyota Priuses installing a new cat is more than the car is worth and your insurance company doesn't cover it.

It only makes it a felony it they get prosecuted a 3rd time and it allows for DAs acclimate crimes that happened in multiple juridisations. Before the new law what would happen is if shoplifters stole less then 950 they would only get a fine or a misdemeanor in some cases so if it is essentially a slap on the wrist or no consequences if you reoffend. I would like to see them go after the rich couple in granite Bay that was the head of the theft ring. This couple paid groups of minor and some adults to do those large retail theft at Nike,Ulta and similar stores. When they got busted the wife got 5 years probation and the husband got like 18months but only did 6 most. For millions of dollars. If they were sent to prison it would help lessen the thefts. California needs to reign in the absurd fees self-storage businesses are charging to store property. Also, what is the purpose of charging renter's insurance premiums when it doesn't cover the damage from rat/mouse and other rodent infestation damaging property valued at hundreds of dollars?

Probably turning HOA because there are people that want to escape the loud Boom cars and obnoxious loud music from lowlife neighbors, so they're turning to HOA who will enforce rules on decency and respect for neighbors - everywhere else has turned to garbage because of the legalized drugs and dirtbags everywhere. If you are in an HOA, just try living in a more poor neighborhood in L.A. county and you'll be thanking your lucky stars you are in an HOA soon enough.
