Great video, thank you! I have been camping out there for about 40 years now and never have I seen so many people as I did last weekend. I have a secret campsite off of the Elkhorn Road and I always camp in the same spot and no one has ever camped there but me because I leave little things that let me know if someone has been there. I don't even bother taking pictures because you are correct it simply does not do it justice. I do however have beautiful pictures of the pronghorn antelope as well as the Thule elk. It is very difficult to get close enough to the elk to shoot photos. Last weekend I was enjoying my electric mountain bike on a side road and I didn't see a large diamond back rattlesnake and unfortunately I surprised him and he took a whack at me but he missed! Phew! When I was young we would ride our motorcycles right up to painted rock and sleep up on the rock and no one would bother us for days. That is proof positive that that was a long time ago! It is truly a special place and you have to spend the night out there to really get a feel for it.

It’s a great place, very important to my ancestors. I implore everyone that appreciates that monument, to bring home some of those flowers and if you have a lawn, just have it removed and every spring your front yard will be painted like those hillsides. My home is currently going through its own superbloom. Make sure they’re native wildflowers of course. Just google Bloom California, or native seeds to your state or eco region

We were just there a week ago and it was spectacular. Gorgeous open fields of color. No joke on those unpaved roads. Although navigation was taking us through them, we turned back to our original paved roads into the monument. Love the details on the plants (names) and the animals.
