sachamo100 I dont know, maybe the false history that native americas are cursed jews? That black people wherent allowed in the temple until in the 80s? That it is mandatory to pay the church 10% of your income to be an official member? That if you have doupts or leave, you get shunned by your family and friends? The list can go on...

I just don't understand why volunteering us called "service". They also clean the place. Doesn't sound like service but free labor to me. They pay thousands in tithes each year but clean toilets.

Why are Mormons so interested in finding out about their family history? They want to know if their Mom's brother's wife's sister is their mother.

Lori, Mormons are interested in family history because of the importance of family in the Temple. With the exception of Temple marriages, every single thing Mormons do in the Temple is for others, usually deceased family members who died before the restoration of the gospel. Those family members are not able to perform saving ordinances, such as baptism and confirmation, for themselves, and therefore it is the responsibilities of their descendants to research family history records, and perform those ordinances proxy for the deceased.

Eddie Bosel Thank you Eddie..I'm not being difficult here but why to Mormons have to give 10 percent of their paycheque to the Mormon Church and why is the church locked to individuals unless they have a certain key or pass code. When I lived in Newfounland, every church, no matter the denomination, was open 24/7..I know I sound naïve but I truly mean these questions and I think you could help me understand better. Thank you Eddie.

Lori Patrick nobody HAS to do anything - nobody puts a gun to my head when I pay 10% tithing. We pay it willingly and because we know it is God's true church and a true principle. I know firsthand of the blessings that come from tithing. You can read about it in Malachi. Can't comment about locked chapels - I know most where I live are regardless of denomination. Thanks :)
