@@WilliamRohner Since hammers are such a low cause of death they typically categorize it together with "Blunt Objects". The semantics of how it is said really doesn't change the way I think about it. I look at the weapons used and the purpose. I then consider the danger to practical use/need ratio. I find the need for a hammer to outway the need for an AR15 and we all know which is the weapon of choice for our school shooters. I own a gun for hunting. I don't live in fear or in a place that I feel I need a gun for protection, but I don't have an issue with people who do. I don't feel an AR 15 is the gun needed if one felt they needed to protect themselves unless they were some sort of drug lord. If that is what you are into...I don't even really care about that. I unlike many American have not grown numb to school or random mass shooting by majority, crazy, white males. On a side note, I have lived in South Africa, Colombia, Myanmar (in the center of a military coup), and Lebanon where I never had a gun and it is extremely difficult to get one and I have never felt the need to get one. I did get robbed at gunpoint for money and my phone in Colombia, and I am thankful I did not have a gun on me as no good would have come from it. 1. As someone who lives near the Birmingham area, I know the majority of these shootings happen to be from a certain ethnicity. Birmingham has a lot of gun laws and it doesn't stop the violence in the inner city. I live in a neighborhood where everyone is armed with lenient gun laws and no one has been shot in this area. It is a fact that it is the culture, not the guns that is the problem.

For those not aware of what goes on with these mass shootings in the U.S here you go. Most of these mass shootings are committed by minorities in minority communities. For example, Chicago averages around 15-30 shootings every weekend. America currently stands at around 5th in the world in shootings. If you eliminated Chicago, L.A , St Louis, NY, and Philadelphia we drop to 200th in the world. So it's not a gun problem, it's a people problem.
