For people asking 'how did they lose her?' she simply stopped underneath that over pass, got out the car and was picked up by someone who was waiting for her. It's a very common tactic here in L.A. with the other being just driving thru downtown and either getting lost in those tall buildings or driving inside an underground parking lot.

The watch commander can decide to terminate the chase or keep it going. They have to think about the public and the officers safety and actually the suspects safety too. Also, they weigh the crime involved too, if the crime isn’t too serious it’s not worth them putting public and officer and suspect life in danger.
