Two bears, they weigh 1500lbs, run 40 miles an hour, climb trees, can rip open a truck with their claws. I am glad I live in the UK sometimes.
@amemooress6291
@amemooress6291 4 ай бұрын
Friendly reminder that that's only true because (like with lynx and wolves and wolverines), deforestation and overhunting drove them to extinction there. New findings suggest that the UK may have had bears as recently as around the 11th century. For comparison, wolves went extinct in the 17th century in the UK. There are currently efforts being made to restore some of these species, which is amazing. ❤

@@amemooress6291 We are a very densely populated country and already escaped wild boar are coming into contact with people and it isn't good when they do. That said, people coming into contact with cows also increasingly has resulted in more and more deaths - cows are our most dangerous animal at present.

Not all predators will react but all predators on this earth can sense when something is afraid. That is down to insects all the way up to mammals. Humans can sense it too…unless you can fake it like these people do. They are scared shitless but they cant show that Or that bear gets alot more curious which lead to higher interest in you which eventually leads you to running and thats when you get your skull bitten. No matter what…remain calm and back up while calling attention to yourself. These ppl did the right thing other than (i assume) not having a firearm.

@@BrianWaller-qe7gr Aberrant behaviour can be exhibited by any living thing. In my experience humans are far less predictable and more dangerous than wildlife. I'm not sure what you mean by "false move." Like charging the bear? Maybe screaming at it or throwing things at it? Whatever idiot would behave that way shouldn't expect to survive in the wild. Even still, most bears will walk away, bluff charge or swat an annoying human away, depending on the circumstances.. They live in a natural environment that supports their needs, and they understand their supremacy. Violence for no purpose isn't in their DNA.

TikTok is not real life. You have as much chances of being attacked by a bear as of winning the lottery. Attacks are very rare. Also if a bear comes too close something as simple as shaking tarps or using bear spray will make them go away. Look up the number of people killed by bears and the number of people killed by dogs each year in the US. If you are not scared of dogs then don't be scared of bears.

You have to make noise so they aren't surprised by you. Its dangerous to surprise a bear. Bear bells exist so you are making noise when hiking.

Saying in a loud calm voice " Hey Bear" is a very common practice in bear country. It does two things, let's the bear know you are there so it doesn't get startled and let's the bear know you are a human and not a normal prey animal.

Are these people for real, hello bear with that super sized wild beast in front of them in the open. Bravery and risk is an understatement from where they are standing. These folks are a rare breed. Hello bear, hello bear.

It doesn't matter WHAT they say. They are making sure the bear(s) are aware of them. The bears are busy foraging and if surprised by the people are more likely to do something that could hurt the hikers.

It certainly means that they're no threat whatsoever, and being a bear he could take it as an offer of choosing happy meal he wants with zero fight. Authoritative voices are far more effective than a "please don't eat me Mr. Bear" voice.
