Don't get so caught up in planning your trip that parking your car becomes an after-thought. That's the lesson learned by a Tampa woman who got off a cruise ship only to find someone had broken into her SUV.

Most of the time when you park and sign your “Reservation” you’re also signing an indemnity that releases the company from claims against them for damage, theft, etc. standard license to park long term

Every long term parking I have ever been to has a clearly posted disclaimer as well as a disclaimer on your parking ticket that they are not responsible for your vehichles contents. That is why if I use long term parking I strip my car before hand and leave the clove box, center console, etc all wide open to show there is NOTHING in the car.

Having lived in Oakland,CA for 15+ years . I've learned another good reason to set your comprehensive (not collision coverage) deductible to 0 (Zero). The impacts to your premium as usually minimal. This situation just screams: "Inside job"

Erase your home address from your car's navigation system and from your car registration sticker. Otherwise, someone breaking into your car can find out where you live and they'll break into your home. This has happened to travelers who left their car in a long term parking lot.

This reminded me of my LA Trip. We paid the $50dollars for the parking lot, which was right next to the downtown hotel we stayed in. The second day, we went down there and our rental car’s right mirror was smashed! We asked the staffs there, they said they knew nothing about it, and there was no surveillance camera at all. Due to the lack of evidence, the police officers couldn’t do anything. They left us the company contact, after we came home, the responsibility was all on us! We paid extra $500 as compensation. We couldn’t believe they just got away so easy! Government should really do something with this kind parking companies!

Long term parking is a waste of money and a dangerous game. Uber,Lyft,taxi, rideshare,limo, get family or friends to give you a ride. Hell if you're really picky you can rent a car from Enterprise or other legitimate car rental companies and have them drop you off AND pick you up. There are tons of options that are safer and easier than long term parking.

We left out of fort Lauderdale for a carnival cruise, i guess when i parked the car i forgot to roll up my passengers side window i had my gun and a grand in the glove box. When i got back i noticed that there was a trash bag on window and i thought some one broke in but it was the opposite, a worker there actually taped up my window when he saw it left open and my money and gun was still there this also was not a fenced lot. Shit just happens sometimes just happens sometimes.
