People miss the point of this scene. Thier daughter wasn't supposed to bring the necklace to school. But before Briana could apologize Jeff came through with a Jedi Mind Trick. What he said was misdirection to throw the Principal off her game and at the same time him offering support to Briana about his stance on her music and getting back in the game. Lol. I thought it was clever and witty. Briana Also knows that calling them selves the nasty bitches anymore just isn't going to work and literally says that later

And it's good to own the word to show that it doesn't define u and won't bring u Down it was used as degatory but we changed to show how proud we are of our roots and we are not gonna run away from it we gonna the fuck out of it so when someone uses it on us we are proud because for us it means we are hard workers and resilient pple and the want to bring us down but we won't conform not for them not for anyone

@@atheshx thank you for your perspective. Still, I'm not a female dog, nor are my ancestors nor my female children. Also we don't have 4 legs. It's still a vile word. Girls + women fight each other if anyone calls them that name/ word.

@@fullmoon5971 I agree we are not dogs but owning the word and not letting them use it as a degradation for us is us stepping father away from what bitch stands for for them but for us it means we are strong we came through a lot and I get that many ppl may not agree with my point of view and for those who use the word to put us in our so called place it seems to me that they have an inferiority complex so they want degrade us and put us on their own level but instead we use the word as an empowerment to go farther than they expected us to go

I do! I agree with you and I am sick and tired of being told Owning derogatory words does not define me. BULLSHIT! IF YOU ALL WANT TO call yourselves, N***s, H**S, etc go ahead and wear it around your necks with Pride. I know I will receive all the insults in the world and universe for this but i don't give a F**k!

Absolutely DISGUSTING, DISAPPOINTING JUSTIFICATION of using the B word. And Eve's character just sits there half-smiling. So the child will continue to curse

Being Progressive has nothing to do with being abusive, disrespectful and condescending to others. Especially when it's not their culture or regular way of being or understanding things. This is the type of person who doesn't realize that he teaches his kid to harm other people's kids by not respecting that other kids do not listen or go by the same thoughts or situational awareness others do And that somehow he thinks that's normal. Forcing others kids to deal with your way of thinking is force. Not respect. The whole point of why she said that is to keep the environment kosher for the kids to thrive. They will thrive progressively, but that is only reached when all sides respect similarities and differences. You are entitled to your own thoughts, feelings and experiences. But don't assume kids or others who have different understanding, understand things the way you do. They still may disagree and then you are trying to say that's the only way. Which is isn't. Also no one needs either of your help. Especially when you already are helping others mess up and ruin what's left of my life. Also, people who coersed me in certain situations played on my ignorance of the knowledge I did not know pertaining to it. That doesn't make me what in someone's playlist constitutes as anything. I am a victim. Not willing to do anything. I was ignorant. I speak for myself. If you want respect, you give it. I only know what I learned. I only learn if I'm allowed to. Not if you force me to. Eve looks like Rachel Megan Markle....

Yes, but she wore the necklace rather than say the word right? It's the necklace that he is defending not her speaking it. Am sure, as any parent, she would be reprimanded for it. At the same time, it's probably her mother's necklace so telling her not to value her mother's hard work and what that represented would not be a good position for the father. It's the context that's important. Not every situation suits the B-word and in this case and their life experience, it was justified to defend her wearing that necklace.

My dear take everything you said and flip it to the actual education system that has shoved down our throats telling our kids cannot be scientist, but janitors and entertainers. If you do not take the negative and change it to a positive, then there can never be progress.

@@fullmoon5971 I totally agree with you. But this is happening now, or in the the last 10- 15 years, Which shows progression. I'm 50, grew up in the era of what the characters portray. And believe me being called a bitch, whore or hoe was rough. Regardless how much respect, experience, understandings of other thoughts, ideals and or exposures to other cultures, it still did not stop people calling a woman out of their names. So for a child who took her mother's necklace that said "nasty bitch" to school to show off for "clout" shows how the child is "proud" of moms legacy. Mind you kids only take things to school they are "proud of, and or help them get friends etc". Many will not see it that way due the "old/ standard" meaning of bitch. But remember this child was raised when the meaning of bitch was being reversed. Our society is moving forward, but there still members of society "who choose" to cling to the past. As women, Not to sound facetious, once we lose that V card, right way or wrong way, at one point in our lives. We're going to be called a bitch. One can be a doctor lawyer, etc., a woman will experience that. Why not turn a negative term to a positive term? The word will never go away, but we can change the "experience" of being called that.
