I get being hurt, but that's not the same as loneliness or just being alone. I think people place too much emphasis on romantic relationships in general. There's just too much effort and energy that goes into it. I found an amazing woman, and I didn't have to go looking for her. We stumbled into each other. Took a while, but it happened. True love is something you realize and stumble upon, not something you do that actively drives you to feel things like loneliness. It'll happen, but we have to be much more patient for it. Also, it's surprisingly not difficult to know when someone feels the same way about you. Don't ever go for anyone that cares less ....OR.... more for you, than you do them. The imbalances lead to inadequacies, and the inadequacies lead to resentment. Just stay true to you and try not to worry so much about it. There is no such thing as "The One"!

One thing I never understood about Carrie is that she always acted like she and Doug had a terrible life. She had a two story house, a good job and a husband who loved her. Granted Doug did a lot of stupid things but I never for once doubted that he loved her and wanted her to be happy. But Carrie nother was ever enough, she complains about never having any money yet spends a fortune on clothes, when she saw others happy, and wanted everyone else to be miserable. She felt like she was OWED the luxurious life, the fancy clothes, the apartment in Manhattan. So ungrateful for what she had I would kill for a house like that! I can relate. I heard something like this 9 years ago and she walked away. I've been in freefall ever since. If you don't care about relationship it's easy to say it's over and time to move on. When you invest your heart in something you've taken a leap of faith and often the other party didn't and they can walk away when things get difficult. All the guilt in the world later can ever atone for the heart you destroyed. We only get one life. Be damned sure you are ready and are taking that leap of faith. Otherwise, it's just a series fo one night stands that eventually get old.

What's the point of it if you're just worried about money every second of every day. Oh I can't go there, oh I can't buy that. And I'm not even talking about raising a family. I mean that is an absolute pipe dream. If given a choice, I'd much rather struggle by myself than with somebody by my side. And maybe you can get to a point where you're making good money but that's going to take so much effort, time and sacrifice that you don't even have time for anybody else.

Don’t allow someone to permanently break your heart. Let it finally heal, sir. Your heart deserves another chance to feel and be free and love again! You owe it to yourself and your heart. It may take a lot of work but you should at least try. 🤎

All the things doug has done, constantly disappointing her comes up with a million excuses to not come to any event , always yelling at her father, lies, lazy, & he himself literally had a whole secret apartment & job for weeks but when Carrie has an apartment (that he himself lied to her about when it comes to wanting to move into that apartment as well) now he wants to leave OVER THAT? I feel the writers rushed this ending because it has never made sense to me. How you mad she got an apartment that you knew she deeply wanted when you yourself just had a whole apartment 🤦🏽♀️

It's criminal how Kevin james was always looked past by The Academy. He likes to do the real people's characters, which doesn't leave much room for range. However, when he is allowed to, I think he proves himself to be a great actor.

Every time I start to feel bad for Doug here, I’m reminded of the time he took Carrie to that lodge he took his ex gf, the time she caught Doug singing his ex gf a song, the time he and his buddies got their own apartment and she didn’t know, the time he spent their tax refund check on an ice cream truck, the time when Carrie learns that the romantic line he used on her was from a movie said to a monkey. The list goes on. And let’s not forget how and why they got here. Doug lied to Carrie. He acted like he was supporting her in them moving to the city knowing that they couldn’t because of Arthur, but it all changes when Arthur announces that he’s getting married, Carrie assumes that with Arthur out of the house, they can move forward with their plans to move to the city. Doug had no choice but to tell her that he lied. He strung her along knowing that her dream was to move to the city. Doug screwed up a LOT and carrie forgave him every single time.

In the very least. Realistically there would be more words between a husband and wife over a marriage. Sitcoms cut the tension with occasional jokes or just cut it short altogether, but the very least they could have had her walk out in some glimpse of shock or confusion.

This is a good scene. Like real life, neither one was wrong for being themselves. They were just different people. It was like he could never live up to the lifestyle she wanted. She was never going to stay happy with his lifestyle. Both were fine people, just different. I like the realness of the scene. Many people have been in this scenario...when you realize it's really over.

@@deathrager2404 Women... Even here in the comment section it becomes obvious what also played into this scene, a lot of women lack self-accountability and self-reflection because they often just follow through what their "tummy-feelings" tells them and afterwards rationalize it, they rather fight and follow through with their need to be right than fighting for the relationship. This has been only gotten worse with feminism. Doug for sure had his flaws and also lied in the series, but the big difference is that he proved he was willing to fight for the relationship while she just stayed a long for the ride till something better comes along. While its true that she just walking away proved Dougs point like some said it also showed something else, that finally a situation arrieved where Carrie clearly is in the wrong and cant even fight that, which she just absolutly couldnt stand, so she rather quickly walked away.
