Just a mental fellow if you truly love someone, it will not matter how they change appearance-wise. You should still be able to see that the person you loved is inside this new face or appearance and love them regardless. I know it is less drastic, but I was very much in love (as cliché as it is) with a singer a few years ago, and after becoming very ill he ended up gaining quite a bit of weight, growing out his hair and generally looking more tired and so on. He may have lost his figure and changed a bit facially due to the weight gain and exhaustion from his sickness, but I still find him just as attractive and never stopped thinking about him in the way I did. People change, that is just a fact you must accept in life, but if you really love a person, no matter how drastic the change, you will continue to love them regardless. A physical change is no excuse or explanation for divorce.

I too would not force my loved one to stay with me if I was disfigured badly in an accident, because I can understand that some people do not see things the way I do, and cannot bring themselves to continue loving someone who has changed from what they remember. I still believe, though, that if you really loved the person, it would not matter how their looks change. I think it’s really a matter of how much the person loves the other, and how much they value appearance, but to me, I could never imagine leaving someone I love because of something like a facial disfigurement. You seem an understanding and kind individual yourself, and I wish you a good day :)

If you watch pictures after surgery it is amazing. Thank God for all things going together. I hope the donor guy is smiling from above that he could help and having a peacefully rest. Nice to see things like that. Good doctor and a brave guy with that 50-50 surgery. And don't forget the mom of the donor, she was so helpful to let it start.

This dude is a tragedy. He was willing to give his life for someone he didn’t know, he spent months in a hospital recovering, he lost his ears and was permanently scarred beyond recognition, his children were scared of him. You can’t find a purer soul out there; I think this guy deserves this surgery and he definitely deserve to survive

Remember also that he was a VOLUNTEER fireman so he was doing this out of pure altruism to help friends, neighbors and strangers from a hideous death
