I accidentally overdosed on half a perc 30 last week. I couldn’t hear, I was coughing up blood, I couldn’t stop throwing up, and I was turning blue. I laid there for hours knowing I was dying before finally telling my parents (i’m 17) I slept for 3 days straight and could barely breathe when I came home from the hospital. I truly never want to get high again on anything. I am lucky I didn’t die during those hours of laying there. I was so scared and in so much pain. Please don’t do it. Please don’t take pills.

I started doing drugs since my teenage. Got addicted to fentanyl for over 6 years. Fentanyl addiction actually destroyed my life. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Not until my mom recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 2 years totally clean. Never thought I would be saying this about mushrooms.

Ive done shrooms last month in my house. It taught me how severely traumatized I was from alcohol. I healed from many mental traumas from my past and was able to forgive, let go. @@Wow_wow1 - As a doctor who works with addicts, I find it offensive that you would choose those words. Especially in the comments section of a video that is designed to show you the face of addiction, and humanize it. YOU may not agree with saving the lives of people who are in the throes of addiction, and/or an overdose, but every one of them is someone’s child….someone’s parent, someone’s sibling, someone’s best friend. They have a purpose, they need & deserve help. This isn’t something they chose, it’s something that happened while they were trying to escape physical, emotional, or psychological pain. I don’t condone the ways in which they get money to pay for it, but at some point, it’s not about getting high, it’s about not getting sick. The detox process is awful. It can be expensive and next to impossible for them to find help, and that’s what needs to change. The fact that you can watch a video of a 16 year old girl overdosing, in her parents home, and say that you don’t agree with saving her life is disgusting, frankly. I have patients who were prescribed pain meds after surgery, and became addicted, construction workers who were prescribed pain pills to continue working with a back injury, and became addicted, 15 year olds, 57 year olds, patients who live in multimillion dollars homes, and patients who live under a freeway overpass. They’re are talented, smart, intuitive, and kind people whose lives spiraled out of control while they weren’t paying attention. They deserve help. The deserve kindness. They deserve a chance to live again. What they don’t deserve is people like you.

He sprinted up the stairs, not sauntered up the stairs. He took his work seriously. It's called going above and beyond the call of duty, not just signing on the dotted line. BTW do you have a dotted line at work? That is usually doing the minimum.

I’ll never forget my attempt at ending things they had to cut me down the panic in her voice as she screamed my name for five minutes as I’m going in and out of consciousness I was sitting so was able to be saved but I could not get it off myself I remember thinking why is she yelling my name so much but she saved my life and I could tell she was new I’ll never put someone through that again

I’m so glad you made it out. God has a purpose for your life, and that is your testimony. I’d give anything to have my daughter back, but we all have our appointed time. Hers was 11/17/20. Oh, Gayle, I am so sorry for your broken heart. My Son Kyle lived in Ohio for 7 years. He never sounded right or happy. He came home, and stayed with me in my tiny studio apt., It never occured to me that he had a drug problem. I thank God every day that we lived in that small space. I did his wash and found cut off straws. I would not let it pass. Put 2 and 2 together and FINALLY he admitted his problem with Xanax and Percocet. Except Gayle. They were laced with fentanyl. He went thru 3 days of withdrawal at my house and still would not tell me what was happening. Then one day, He said. I want to tell you what's going on, after the withdrawal ,he put himself on Suboxone. From that day forward. We worked together to get him the help he needed! When he went to outpatient treatment they tested his blood. He had 1000ml of FENTANYL per 1 ml of blood. They said he should be DEAD. Gayle, it is no relection on us as parents. These kids take 1 pill they can die. But. Sadly I feel the truth is not a one time thing and they get hooked. I hope this helps other Parents of kids on drugs, if you even think there is a problem, don't let up, keep asking questions use your intuition. Addicts don't tell the truth, they will lie. Watch them closely,are they asking you for money alot, are they not sleeping. Don't turn a blind eye. Make them face it. Again, I'm so sorry for the loss of you're daughter and I pray my son can make it.🙏♥️

Selling somebody heroin, or some other opiates for a period of time and then having a TOTALLY different mix with Fentanyl in it will get you ten years. They are now making the "dealers" (loose term, really) who sold somebody a deadly dose do REAL time. I'm not talking a year in the county. The guys (2) who sold Mac Mill (or whatever the dudes name was) his deadly dose both got DECADES by the Judge. It doesn't really matter anymore if someone forced the dopefiend or not. They are holding the "worker" responsible now, and this is not mythology. It's the new way for them to "feel good" and hold somebody accountable for the users death. I went to rehab in 2019 right around the time fentanyl started popping up in everything. I remember multiple people i know dying from fentanyl laced cocaine (cocaine being my drug of choice) it still wasn’t enough to scare me. True addicts always have the mindset it can never happen to them. I’m extremely happy i finally hit my bottom and sought help. Ive been clean and sober since. I couldn’t imagine being a teen and experimenting nowadays. My heart is with any families who’ve been affected by this epidemic. My heart also goes out to all the still sick and suffering alcoholics and addicts. If you’re someone who’s struggling i promise you there is a way out you just need to reach out for help and take recommendations from people who’ve been there.

I feel like most all of these comments about "addiction" just fundamentally miss the point. That's only roughly 20% of hard drug users. Have you not been paying attention to what's going on? A huge number of these people dying are not addicts. They're just casual recreational drug users who wanted to experiment or dabble in oxycodone but obviously there is no real oxy on the street anymore. And that's not even counting the people who have had their cocaine or Xanax contaminated with fentanyl.

My daughter lost her best friend to a pill that was laced with fentanyl. It was devastating to go to a funeral for a 17 year old girl who had her whole life ahead of her and to watch the poor parents in pain was heartbreaking. Exactly this. But you see her father says he has some history so I feel like this is the environment she grew up in. When we were growing up we were thinking about school and college and activities we didn’t have time to ruminate by ourselves and look for drugs nor would we ever think of doing that. Nobody in my friend group even ever tried drugs we were just too busy trying to get into good colleges. I feel like these are lost wayward kids who don’t have goals or purpose and don’t have parents supervising them. my parents and those of my friends watched us like hawks knew every move we make and none of us ever got into trouble or drugs. Nowadays if you suggest that online you get 1000 millennial parents saying they’ll resent you and do it anyway. No, we did not resent our parents, and no ….we didn’t do it anyway.

I'm glad she's doing good now. A couple months ago I've went to the hospital a couple hours before taking a unknown pill (even if it wasn't still fentanyl) with 3 friends in a spot near my house. When it started kicking in I left them to go at my house by myself bc I was feeling kinda weird and it went crazy till the point that every 3secs that was passing I felt like my brain was reseting. Long story short, Got in the hospital with 195bpms. Stayed there. I was 19 at the time. One thing I've learned is that even if we're aware of the consquences accidents can still happen. Stay safe

That's exactly what I experienced the 3 times. I accidentally ate a piece of cake, and time felt like it was on a loop resetting. The second time, I eat two gummies not knowing, and I couldn't tell where I was in time, it was a loop again, time repeating. Third time a friend let me try vaping for the first time. Idk what it had, but I fell down quick. Time was repeating on a loop. I didn't have a hold on it. I thought I was already dead the first time, second and third, I thought I was going to die from a heart attack. NEVER again.

@tiaadaanieep7282 Based on what I've seen from fentenal, I assume I would have already been dead? had any been there. I don't think any of the people had connections with coke. They all admitted to weed, but I honestly wouldn't know for sure. I did Google and Duck Duck Go it. Why I react the way I do. Beacuse they had admitted to weed, that's what I focused on. I found that THC affects people in two ways, depending on what portion of the brain is more sensitive, the front or back. Mine is the back. People who have bad trips have the back side stimulated. I also found that THC actually prevents deep sleep. I was given some to help sleep once, and I always woke up feeling hangover. I looked into it and found that in everyone, THC will never allow you to deep sleep, which is a problem. Someone like me, who is also more sensitive (because I don't normally use weed), could feel the effects stronger while using it for sleep. Today's weed is also more potent and different than the weed used a decade ago. I really do hope I didn't accidentally eat/smoked coke or fentenal. I just know the original comment resonated with me.

i’m 22 and still have lasting brain damage from being deprived of oxygen for quite some time after an overdose. it happened when i was 18. i struggled hard with addiction to various otc and hard drugs from ages 14-18 and thankfully had too much anxiety every time i would indulge in anything aside from weed and alcohol after my overdose. i had just barely missed the rise in fentanyl and still almost died. drug addiction is brutal and so, so damaging, even permanently. i urge anyone to get out while they can, especially with all the fentanyl out there nowadays. i’m only 4 months mostly sober from alcohol and two years sober from marijuana, and sober life is by no means a walk in the park after years of being addicted to just about everything out there, but it is so worth it to see your psyche start to bounce back and to feel better about yourself. find out your triggers and who your enablers are and make the change before it’s too late! i am making my peace with how my brain has changed, but the one thing i regret in this life was ever touching drugs.

That was 11 years ago and that night/ day finding him dead with my parents has never left our minds or hearts… apart from my dad who died a few years later (not from drugs). Over a 100,000 people dead from drug overdose within one year. Even people who do okay with alcohol and pot need to acknowledge that some people genetically and psychologically are just better off staying away from drugs. It’s something you have to be very careful with. It just seems like more and more younger people are isolated and alone and my experience growing up these are the people who do drugs. Better to put down the phones and tablets and start chilling and going places with a close friend or two. Go outside. Don’t just stay at home by yourself. Spend less time online.

This made me cry so hard. I lost one of my childhood friends to an accidental fentanyl overdose. They didn't know what they were doing was laced. When I was younger I used to be more judgemental towards addicts and as I grew older and learned more I realized that they need a lot of compassion, love, support and understanding from people. It breaks my heart when I hear stories like this and keep seeing people from my childhood hometown die. This fetanyl thing is a huge problem taking many lives. Just because someone has tried a drug or drugs doesn't mean they don't deserve to live. So many people turn a blind eye and dismiss addicts and send them hate, until it effects them or someone they love. I wish people cared more and didn't wait until it touched them personally to care.

The exact same thing happened to me. I am also a fentanyl overdose survivor, under the exact same circumstances. When I was 20, I was in a. Dark place, and found some of my dads old Xanax and took it. I loved finally being able to sleep, cuz that was an awful issue, and when I couldn’t get more, I decided to buy some from the friend of one of my close friends. Not knowing anything about it, I also took it, not knowing it was laced with fentanyl. I woke up in the hospital, taken there by my parents, and they said if I took even a milligram more of it, I would’ve died. Please do not buy anything off the street, you will die, I guarantee.

I had a fentanyl over dose on Saturday. I was laced somehow. No one believes me. Cop and hospital basically laughed in my face. I went to see my favorite band, took 3 shots, and went back to my car for something, and I blacked out. 20 minutes later I was in full code on a ventilator being worked on for 80 minutes. Someone must have approached me in those 20 minutes that I blacked out. I didn't know how bad it was until I got my paperwork back days later. They didn't check for any other drug, but it was forsure a fentanyl od. I only ever drink, it was scary and I'm so heartbroken I got targeted when all I wanted to do was see my favorite band.

My nephew passed away last month due to Fentanyl overdose! Only 30 years old! I hope she learned to value her life and understands the dangers with drugs. Its so sad to see my sister's pain over losing her only child! we are all devastated!

I am so sorry for your loss I was an addict as well I am 33 now an 9 years clean I lost my dad at 16 he was only 36 then my baby sister she was only 16 she died of sepsis due to a sinus infection she was my best friend so I started using idk why the pain an guilt but it hit me that she wouldn't have wanted that nor my dad or living members However my heart and prayers go out to you an your family ❤

My 26 year old brother died September ‘22. This is legitimately an attack on our country. My brother wasn’t a drug addict. He did like to have fun tho. And unfortunately you get tainted drugs that kill. I’m sadder than hell these days. But my family are doing the best we can to make sure is death is not in vein. We are working to spread awareness. We all have to come together and do this.

I'm glad her father and the officer with Narcan could save this young lady. Every emergency responder must have this lifesaving drug in their vehicle. Private citizens should carry it in purses and cars so they can quickly access it.

I lost my dad, dog and cat in a week span about 3 years ago. Started doing heroin because pot and alcohol wasnt enough. Never had anything laced until about a year later. 1st time i took a shot, walked into the kitchen, talked to my mom remember grabbing the sink and next thing i know im waking up with police and emts standing over me on the kitchen floor with my mom crying behind them. I felt horrible said thank you and went to bed. The 2nd time i knew what it was so i thought i could try just a little bit but nope. Woke up in my chair same as the 1st time. 3rd time i was at the beach for work and that evening in the hotel room took another shot and fell out in the bathroom. Mu friend heard me hit the floor amd had to do cpr on me til paramedics arrived. I woke up as i was being put into an abulance naked. Went home and had a sit down with my mom, apoligized to her and i havent touched it since. Been 2 years now. Got my family trust back, my friends, new dog that is MY WORLD!!! and an awesome job. Every time i want to do it again i close my eyes amd see my mom standing there with tears in her eyes. Ill never put her thru that again.

Fentanyl took my sister February 4th of 2021. Forever 29. We were terribly abused growing up I broke the cycle and she didn't unfortunately. The coroner told me 3 a day in Memphis

I almost OD’d a few years ago, after a friend gave me half of a pressed Perc-30. I was so dizzy and nauseous and could literally feel myself dying. I “fell asleep” on the curb while my friend was inside of the house passed out.. and woke up 5 hours later in the middle of night, still sitting in front of my friends house. I’ll never forget looking up to the night sky and being so shocked at what I had just experienced. I got up and went home, and hugged my mom and brother. Never told anyone about it, and the friend who gave me the pill ended up passing away last year from Fentanyl. Only one of us got out. RIP Eric.

I always share videos like this to my teens. They both got a share in their messages with a "Watch this so you can be informed". I feel like the more they see on how dangerous things like this are the better decisions they make. So far I've been lucky they've been 10x better behaved than I ever was as a teen.

i gotta be honest im not saying don't trust your kids but at the end of the day, at least for me, there was very little my parents could do to stop anything i wanted to do. your children's peers influence them 10000x more than you do, just hope that they chose good people to be around, that's what saved me.

I lost my niece to heroin laced with Fentanyl last month. For my son who’s a teen who doesn’t use drugs, the warning of her death will hopefully keep him from ever trying drugs even once. All it takes is one pill.
