Great story. I was plucked out of cali and spent 2 and 3 grade being bused into a different school zone in Louisville. During a school assembly Ali showed up because some of his nephews and nieces were there. I was the token cute white kid on the front row. He looks down during q and a. Says You....you down there. Mickey Mouse....what's your question? I didn't understand the gravity at that age. But I do now.

This is a true story: Muhammad Ali was on a flight in the United States. As the plane was taxiing to the end of the runway, the Flight Attendant reminded him to fasten his seat belt. "Superman doesn't need a seat belt," replied Ali. "Superman doesn't need a plane either", replied the Flight Attendant. The world heavyweight boxing champion duly strapped himself in. Were YOU that Flight Attendant? 🙂

MASTER CLASS!!! Seriously! This was clearly prepared in many ways but effortlessly given extemporaneously!! Man... and just beautiful words at that but littered with the truth of experience... Even if you had a grudge against the man in life - Billy would have made you love him in his passing - framing him in the light we should look at all people - Their good deeds!!! SO DOPE!!!!!!

MbseedM , I’ve had folk laughing and even clapped at my best friends send off, even my brother in laws I had them laughing, you can’t make it too sombre, it’s a sad day as it is, hopefully, you won’t have to ever speak a eulogy ever, but if you offer, make it fun, as everyone knows a time when that person had fun with everyone at sometime who attends, that would spark a great memory for someone

I was at The Rustic Inn Crab House in Dania, Fl in the early 80's. Ali was eating with his wife and the waitress asked my mom if I wanted to meet him. I really did not know who he was as I was like 9 years old. He tapped my cheek with his fist and told me to eat my vegetables, lol.

Thank you Billy. I’m 67 years old Australian and I’ve been fascinated/ following Ali since I listened to the Liston fight with my dad in 64. I didn’t understand his conscription protests at the time. I was an Aussie kid who believed in the domino theory aged 12. How’s that happen? But I grew to understand, admire, respect and yes...love this great man. He changed the world.. just like my Beatles did. Again Billy, thankyou

The answer is not at all, when Donald Trump dies there will be people who say that he was the greatest president ever. Hell, he's not even dead and they are already saying it but just cause a few hundred or thousands of people say it, doesn't make it so. Don't hate the man (Ali) but I do hate that they still say he was the greatest of all time, when he wasn't, he was very, very good but far from the greatest.
@kybelian7 жыл бұрын
Dennis Robertson Muhammad Ali is the Greatest. He was the ONLY Heavyweight Champion of the World! That meant he was known and recognized on the streets of every capital and major city on earth not just the USA and Europe. No other person comes close except the Queen of England, Princess Diana.... But the word fighter if left to boxing would be too small. The fight he fought gave courage to punks like Donald Trump to be able to resist going to Vietnam. He was willing to pay a fine and go to prison for his beliefs. Give up fame and fortune. He did not depend on a deferment like punkass Donald Trump or Dick Cheney. He did not run off to Mexico like John Wayne did to avoid WW2. Vietnam was an unjust war based on lies and racism. There are entire high school classes of boys drafted and dead. There are homeless shelters full of Vietnam era vets. I know firsthand because I was in one of them. Ali stood up and sacrificed himself and this was important to eventually bring an end to what essentially was another opportunity for the USA to mass murder Asians defending their country. What you wrote about Trump is worthless nonsense. Shows what a threat the USA has become for having so many ignorant people having too much power. The only people who will call Trump the greatest will be clueless Users who voted for him. There will be no such sentiment coming from South America, Africa, Asia and yes Europe..especially Britain. Heavyweight champion because he fought for the little people and spoke truth to power against men too afraid to go against him one on one.

I'm old enough to remember Ali in his prime. Billy C has been a name known to me, but never realised what a talent he his, This eulogy is brilliant. As a UK citizen he is one of the most American brilliant comedians I have come across over the years, Alan Alda in M.A.S.H being the other. American humour is different from the UK because we do not always know who they are impersonating, but in this case we do. He is a credit to the US, haven't laughed as much in a long time. God rest Ali and well done Billy C.
