I feel the other way around, he ruined both "The Last Duel" and "Star Wars" for me. The latter was ruined anyway by the script and direction, but "The Last Duel" could have been a much better movie with someone else playing Jacques.

I sat in the movie theater for two hours watching this movie and didn't know it was Adam Driver. I'm glad I didn't because then all I would see is the actor.

Lindsey Davis- very good interview, great questions. It’s obvious Adam is a very focused actor and cares about his craft and the character he plays. Immediately I felt I was watching Enzo himself and not an actor playing a part.

Also when he says "this is 1957 so it's pre-psychology, so they came up with their own coping mechanisms" - that's a perfect way to describe why I love movies about that time period, because it's interesting to imagine what it was like to live in a time where people told you to "rug some dirt in it" when you were going through hell in your mind. Some stories it's overwhelming how angry it makes me when I'm feeling empathy for a character going through a horrible time, and sometimes it's fun because no one knows or understands what some characters are really thinking (so they can get away with crimes and whatnot) and sometimes it shows how people could have loved so much deeper, because they're the only two in the whole world that understand each other.

I really thought the lead actor in this movie was an Italian man in his 50s. I was so suprised to read after it that he was the guy was Star Wars, American and in his early 40s!

The first time I saw Adam Driver's face was when he took off his mask as Kylo-Ren in Star Wars and I remember thinking "I don't like this man." And now he's one of my favorite actors. He's just incredible in every movie he does and he chooses them so well; I don't think I've seen a bad Adam Driver movie. It always impresses me when an actor can go from "I don't like him" to one of my favorites, most actors you like because they're attractive but they're not quite as good as the hype - the opposite is quite difficult to pull off but Adam did it in like 3 years, for me at least lol.

The Ford vs Ferrari movie describes Enzo very well as Adam is. He nearly drove the company into bankruptcy when Ford came along with a bailout that he turned down. This led to the rise of Carroll Shelby arguably an equally great race car and car builder, then Ford beating them at LeMans.

I found it interesting how differently both movies depicted that series of events. Ford V Ferrari simply portrayed it as Enzo snubbing Ford in the midst of negotiations, while Ferrari implied that Enzo initiated the Ford rumors through a false news story to light a fire under Fiat to get them to the table so they could "keep it Italian". Would be interested to hear how that all really went down.

Camera with the photo talen stolen out of our car in Torino on C/so Vitt Emanuele II, along with our luggage, etc. I would much rather have that film, as I took some shots at Bertone of the Rainbow, Marzal, and Stratos Prototipo.
