I think it was just written for her to be with the Twiggs even though they weren’t her parents they seem like the better parents. And though they weren’t as well off as the other family she got a lot of love from so many siblings and a mother who wanted to keep her alive. Vs the other family just left with the other child knowing she wasn’t theirs.

I believe that my baby was stolen from me in 1977 because they told me that she was a stillbirth but she cried and they whisked her out of the delivery room I remember the nurse coming and putting some thing in my IV and when I woke up another nurse went and got the Doctor and said I was awake and he asked me if there was any body who could make arrangements or did I want the hospital to dispose of her !! I still believe they stole my baby because of my age and I already had a son guess they figured I could have more children which I did but this doesn't mean what they did was okay. My daughter who is named Mary is buried at palm memorial cemetery but there is still so many unanswered questions because in 1994 when I finally got enough money to buy a head stone they couldn't find her, I know all this sounds crazy but it is the truth she was born at Homestead Air force base.

Actually, she moved in with the Twiggs at age 16 and lived with them for almost 2 years. She left them, she said due to all the resentment coming from most of her siblings, and got married young at 18. That didn't work out and she lost custody of her own son. She has been estranged from the Mays & Twiggs for years. Bob Mays died in 2012. She didn't even know about the death until about 2 or 3 months later.

I think it's very sad and in-fact disgusting how many people in the comment thread throughout this entire documentary blame Bob Mays without question. This program and the author of that book are obviously biased to Regina's side instead of being non partial journalists. I'm sure if the Twigg family had been the rich ones, born with the sick child the shoe would be on the other foot! That's the rotten thing about judgment. That's the horrible thing about this whole case. The families could have been one another, Kim and Arlena could have been one another...But in the end Kimberly paid the price for all of it didn't she? She became some prize to be won as property settlement because Arlena died. There was never any proof that Barbra or Bob had anything to do with the switch. That phone call and the car outside is all hearsay and so are your comments! The nurse who confessed on her death bed to knowing about the switch said that the doctor told her to do it. She said nothing about Bob Mays, Barbra or the Twiggs. Again, it's Kimberly who continues to live to this day with the decisions that greedy adults made concerning her well being. Her parents are dead, Arlena is dead...We only have the word of her biological mother who decided she would have both children! No matter who or what it destroyed :(

Mrs. Twigg questioned it the next morning. She thought the baby had a darker complexion & looked a bit blue. The baby was now having trouble nursing. The nurse talked her out of her concerns. What I find more perplexing is Mrs. Mays not noticing the difference. She delivered her baby on November 29th. That is about 4 or 5 days before Mrs. Twigg who delivered on December 3rd. Are you telling me Mrs. Mays was not familiar with her own baby within all those days? Yet Mrs. Twigg had questioned it the next morning?

Bob Mays knew the girl he was raising my as not his biological daughter. As he knew their biological daughter has a severe congenital heart defect which without specialised medical attention would kill her. Rather then wanting to visit or check up on the his severely sick biological daughter he wanted to stop the visits between the biological parents of the daughter he stole from them. He's just painting himself as a hero for stealing their biological daughter while abandoning his severely ill biological daughter.
