The reason why it was so deadly was cause it happened so quickly people had no time to prepare. Some had only mere seconds to get into a bathroom, others had no time and just hopped under a bed. It's scary how quickly it formed and long it lasted.

I’m no civil engineer, but 170 mph is a crock. There are damage videos from right before it hit town with trees that are so stripped and decimated, there is no way it’s only low end EF4. I know rating isn’t supposed to matter because it’s about the devastation to peoples lives, but the severity can’t be looked over because of what it means to people. Structures in Mississippi are terribly built, but again, look at the damn trees.

My God, horrifying way to die. My heart hurts for those who lost life, so precious & fragile. One day & just gone like that, due to nature's power & fury. The cruelty is unimaginable. Any of us, including me, can be these people or next. Even just seeing their homes and neighborhoods in such destruction is beyond imagination & heart breaking. I couldn't handle even that much, let alone injuries or loss of life. Such strength & hope, you'd think they'd be in a pretty bad mood but maybe it's the very fact they made it through intact, is all that matters to be grateful for. It certainly makes me realize my problems so small & I question why I have the life I do, imperfect but so abundant & safe. Why do disasters occur where they do, to those they do, it really causes one to wonder. I hope emergency services & govt agencies are helping to shelter these survivors & take care of them, thank you for reminding us of what matters most & what gift life is to cherish. The govt is such a broken system & corrupt, I really hope those put in charge actually help the victims & they can rebuild and find support through such trauma. Facing death so closely in the eye can be very traumatic. ❤️🙏🏻❤️
