Exactly He is a mastermind genius, he basically want to show the people „don’t eat it, or it’s your own risk“ he makes so much money out of it so he is a smart guy. I wouldn’t care about the people either They can eat until they die I wouldn’t care a bit

@@elmaz46 He's no mastermind. He's the drug dealer assuming all his of customers are using drugs "responsibly". He's the dad who leaves a cigarette lighter in the kids room. Who cares if he tells the truth, he still continues on to feed the addiction even after the death of his very FRIEND, because he loves money. This restaurant is demonic and sends people straight to h3ll.

I truly think Basso cares. It's worth exploring the genius and selflessness of giving people who weigh over 350 lbs free food. Not because it offers fat people free food and cause for reflection. But also because the obese people who eat there won't be missed if they stop eating there, whether it's by choice or death. Once somebody obese has recognized their poor habits and decides to change, there wouldn't be a downside for Basso, as he wasn't financially benefitting from their addictions. Equally, if somebody obese has a heart attack at his restaurant, his message is sent out in capital letters so other people get scared to eat there. Which they should be.

the point is that the supervillain only makes sense on a superficial level. and then you consider everything else. Thanos became a genocidal dictator in his attempt at resource management. he murdered people. Killmonger still used CIA tactics to overthrow a country and was about to set up a mass takedown of oppressed peoples due to him thinking that he can enact a revolution just by arming them with Wakandan technology (which is really just vibranium-based). the Joker thinks everybody is innately the worst person possible. Jon Basso threw a hissyfit because he found out about cheat meals when writing his thesis in college.

Left out of the story is how he went from an owner of a small chain of fitness clubs to churning out the most unhealthy food possible. He owned a chain called "In and Out Fitness", promoting how people can live healthier in a fast paced world. He was sued by In-N-Out Burger for copyright. They almost bankrupted him and his family. So he decided to join the fast food club that tried to ruin him yet still exposes how unhealthy it is by pulling back the curtain on what it takes to make this kind of food. He's being honest about it while the kingpins of the industry are making it look fabulous and fun. I have nothing but respect for this guy.

at the same time, he was also finishing up his degree and started talking to people about their cheat-day meals that's the part that made me go from "this guy's a truth-teller" to "this guy's throwing a delicious hissy-fit." like, there's a way to get your satirical point out without operating a restaurant that aims to kill people as part of the satire. he's coming from the same cynical-ass worldview as Morgan Spurlock - the both of them don't realize their satirizing the world they're creating. Morgan's fascination with super-sizing and the nutritional value of fast food led to a bunch of restaurants swapping out "fried" for "crispy" - and Morgan still chewed them out over that. Jon Basso's obsession with death, overkill-style menu items (milkshakes that are more like super-creamy ice cream than milkshakes due to their immense butterfat content), and oversized portions has led to restaurants adopting the same to draw in more customers. you can make a point about the revolution being coopted into capitalism, but it'd be like if Howard Beale decided to create the conditions needed for him to break down into that first jeremiad in the first place.

How is that morally okay? They already have problems with eating and he is pretty much giving them free food so they can kill themselves on it. Sure its their choice, but do you think anyone wants to be overweight or die from obesity? These people have problems, and need help, not someone or something that enables them to eat more. Yeah because nothing he says is wrong.... At all. Fast food is unhealthy. We all know that. Either you want it, or you don't. Nobody is forcing anyone to eat it. That logic can be applied to any fast food joint but HE is the ONLY one who's being brutally honest about it and not try to cover their shit up with the so called "health" food and all that crap. If you want to eat the fatty unhealthy food, YOU EAT THE DAMN FATTY UNHEALTHY FOOD. If not, then anyone who has an issue with what he's doing, then just go home and eat some home cooked meal and shut the fuck up.

I personally think that it is more so the customers' faults for going in there to eat that kind of food, and if they so enthusiastically put their health at risk like that then you can't point a finger at the owner. We can, however, point the finger at the whole food industry instead of blaming the victims. Dr. Jon is mocking fast food corporations and it is genius. But that doesn't mean Dr. Jon isn't disgusting. This isn't a black or white, "blame Dr. Jon" or "blame the customers" situation. Both parties are at fault. Dr. Jon is very smart using capitalism to his greatest benefit and what he is doing is legal.

Hmm. I wouldn’t be so easy on the guy that sells. It seems in America people are hard on drugdealers and that sort of thing but this is kind of similar. This sort of establishment functions about the same as a drugdealer; you could say only the addict is at fault but that would be ignorant. The seller is also at fault because he/she is profiting off of people’s addictions/weaknesses and bad habits. Perhaps I’d even put more blame on the seller because he’s doing it consciously, while the addicts are using the food/drug/etc. as an unhealthy way to cope with their demons.
