I am allergic to oranges, so other flavours of bun are very welcome. Here in the UK I like the Mark’s and Spencer apple ones, I buy them every year. This year they had blueberry ones. My husband said they were tasty. We have had buns for breakfast.

I wonder would the anti cross brigade prefer a swastika?

Thats not a hot cross bun. The original recipe contained marmilade.

"Pointless low-carb hot cross buns" The heck you say? I guess if they're so pointless you must have cured type 2 diabetes then.

I guess you have never heard of moderation.

@@kidShibuya They're 40g of carbs per single bun-that's my breakfast and lunch carb load combined. Low-carb in these cases usually just means they used chickpea flour to make them, which is a big improvement (reduces carbohydrates by about 30%). So, ahem, how about you get informed before shoving your foot in your mouth?

Do carbs cause diabetes? I thought diabetes was caused by sugar.
@ConstantlyDamaged3 жыл бұрын
@@woah6958 Carbs are broken down into sugar by your digestive system. Sugar is the simplest form of carbohydrate. Sugar doesn't cause diabetes, but if you already have T2 diabetes it means your body can't control its blood-sugar levels properly. The medications can be really harsh and there are significant bad side effects from letting your blood sugar get too high (including death). Moderating your carbohydrate intake makes it easier for your body to manage sugar in your blood and not need so many meds. The problem is that just one normal hot cross bun counts as two full meals for me.

Nothing wrong with carbs, as long as you don't combine it with fats.
