Believe it or not, this is the beginning of Geoff Tate's fall as a singer. First three albums his range and power were nearly unmatched. It's a big ask, but I beg you. Even if it isn't a reaction, and you just do it for yourself, please listen to their album Operation: Mindcrime start to finish. The album is an absolute masterpiece and no single song does it justice (don't listen to everyone telling you to listen to Eyes of a Stranger. Wow, Queensryche!! So this is a great song, but it's basically the chillest song in their discography because this album (Empire) was their most polished and radio-ready. If you want to hear what heavy Queensryche sounds like, listen to "Warning", "The Lady Wore Black," "Queen or the Ryche," or my personal favorite, "NM156." That's the stuff they built their following on. Oh, and probably the Operation Mindcrime album in its entirety (don't just listen to one song, you gotta do the whole album). P.S. @@MrRudeboy212 Thanks for the compliment on my choice of suggestion. All of their albums up to Empire were unique from each other and great in their own way. All had great songs. Only thing wrong with them I found was that I saw Empire tour when they did Operation Mindcrime in it's entirety and it was so overproduced and sequenced, it had no live feel to it. I was disappointed. I'm a musician and live the raw feel of live rock that you can hear seeing Guns n roses, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Alice or Judas Priest back then or LA Guns or something similar. But still a big fan and appreciate what they did musically. The whole album with the songs you mentioned is so different within just a few tracks. An awesome display of their versatility from the start.

Hush now, don't you cry Wipe away the teardrop from your eye You're lying safe in bed It was all a bad dream Spinning in your head Your mind tricked you to feel the pain Of someone close to you leaving the game of life So here it is, another chance Wide awake you face the day Your dream is over or has it just begun? There's a place I like to hide A doorway that I run through in the night Relax child, you were there But only didn't realize it and you were scared It's a place where you will learn To face your fears, retrace the years And ride the whims of your mind Commanding in another world Suddenly you hear and see This magic new dimension I will be watching over you I am gonna help you see it through I will protect you in the night I am smiling next to you In silent lucidity If you open your mind for me You won't rely on open eyes to see The walls you built within Come tumbling down And a new world will begin Living twice at once you learn You're safe from the pain in the dream domain A soul set free to fly A round trip journey in your head Master of illusion, can you realize Your dream's alive, you can be the guide but I will be watching over you I am gonna help to see it through I will protect you in the night I am smiling next to you

Silent Lucidity" was written about a person having a lucid dream. ... DeGarmo got the idea from a book called "Creative Dreaming". "The song is about the ability to realize that you're dreaming, recognize it, and actually participate in the dream, shape it, change it," the guitarist said in a 1990 interview.

Sang this to both of my kids when they were babies. Did it every night with both of them until I couldn't hold them anymore to rock them to sleep. Just a beautiful song. Queensryche has an amazing catalog to dive into, worth every minute.

The one I like for R gets blocked every time!!! Soooo [S] should be Sirenia (gothic metal) or Skillet (Christian metal so the Jesus loves metal rings true depending on each persons believe)

Red and skillet are not metal bands, but I like the Sirenia choice
@MaddDogg3165 жыл бұрын
@Dillon Haggart, I agree that most people can enjoy several songs from those bands as I do very much. I just don't want to see any more non metal bands on a metal list. He has already done a scar symmetry song so I was wanting a sabaton or soilwork song.
