Happens every year. Know what ive worked in London 35 years and I still love this....Tradition !. Theres usually someone falls off somewhere along the way😂😂 as a horsewoman of 50 years....its not suprising. Only takes one horse to say 'nope!"..and every other gets jittery.😂😂 Always gives me chills after all these years. I do think extra special praise should always be given to the mounted footguard officers who ride (big hat red uniform)They are very often not horsemen, just like for Trooping the Colour theyre given extra lessons by the Cavalry Riding Master. Poor sods! You can often see the fear in their eyes😂😂bless. My son was Grenadier Guard .not an officer ..thankfully ..he only ever rode my horse once as an adult....it didnt end well😂😂😂 At the Coronation a poor Grenadiers Officer ended up in the cheering crowds..bless him...😮 horse and rider fine..except for a little embarrasment.😊

About the size of a full squadron of US cavalry (troop size 100 all ranks) and, yes, column of fours in squads of 8. In the immortal words of Cary Grant, very regimental, Din.

No doubt. Please excuse us for having such a small army. Needless to say, these troops also stand guard on certain buildings in London, 24/7/365. Do yours guard any of your royal palaces? Oh, wait, you don't have any of them, do you?

@@tacfoley4443 Not criticizing His Majesty's Guards. Quite the opposite. Excellent discipline and training. You have a sizable brigade. We just have the 3rd Infantry and several small detachments of Marines. You may have us beat.

Unlikely, it was the last lot who made all the cut backs over the years and amalgamated all our great Regiments to almost nothing. The last Labour government had two new aircraft carries built.
@Maisiewuppp6 күн бұрын
@@gray3553Keep your political comments to yourself. The history of the military has always seen much rearranging of regiments and consolidation of forces to keep up with the times. Otherwise we would still be fighting with fixed battle formations medieval style. Read something before you start racking up brownie points for this government or that.
