The Dewars distillery in Aberfeldy is a special place. It is located only about twenty miles north of my mother's birthplace. They do a great job of presenting their story and their products. We visited in 2018 and enjoyed the experience very much. A tour of the distillery in Aberfeldy is highly recommended,

I visited their Craigellachie distillery in the highlands. Aberfeldy is more in the "lower" highlands, off track the Cairngorms mountain.

Very Nice tour Ben. I have a bottle of the 12 yr. old that I am enjoying, so it was nice to watch this piece. As an Irish Gaelic speaker who also has increased my familiarity with Scottish Gaelic through my whisky journey; your description of the name caught my interest. The word for mouth in Scottish Gaelic is Beul (Bale). The word for Well is Tobar (Tub er). Aber seems like it could be and English miss hearing and mis-pronunciation of Tobar and a water source can be generically called a Well. So possibly a better understanding of Aberfeldy would be (FELDEY'S WELL) On the subject of Scottish gaelic names, Campbell is originally CAMBUEL Cam=Croaked Buel=Mouth A colloquial term for a person who can manipulate people with their words. When I told a Scottish friend this he said "Oh now I understand the Scottish saying "Never Trust a Campbell" SLÁINTE Mike PS My KZbin name is my last name in IRISH. We Irish Gaelic speakers always use the term IRISH when speaking about the native language in English. If a person uses the term IRISH in referring to the native language of Ireland, that person speaks Irish Gaelic. A Monoglot English speaker will use the word Gaelic.
