What a stunning creation! Very original and only Abhishek can pull off such a stunning performance with such depth.. as though the kriti in vogue for a very long time.. very beautifully explored by Mylai KarthikEyan and L Ramakrishnan too... Kanjira man is always on top.... Amazing swara korvais that underlines the parallel with Beethoven's original work

😅 I am very much addicted to Carnatic music. When I saw the name Beethovanapriya, I thought it looks similar to Beethoven only to read in the description.

Beautiful new ragam Beethovanapriya and a Tamizh composition by Vid. Shri Ramesh Vinayakam and rendered very beautifully by Vid. Shri Abhishek Raghuramam with an excellent support on the 🎻 by Vid. Shri L.Rsmakrishnan , and on the Nadaswaram by Vid. Shri Mayilai Karthikeyan and only and excellent percussion support on kanjira by Vid. Shri Sundarkumar. The kalpanaswaras by all the three vidwans are simply simply superb in lingering in our ears.

Have always loved these innovations in music. For people wanting to hear more of Western and Carnatic fusion music, y'all should listen to Dance with Bach by Punya Srinivas. Many of us would have heard it at least once in our lives, the famous interval music played in Satyam cinemas those days. That song is a tribute to Bouree in E minor by Bach, and she marries her own composition with the song so well to make it sound magical.

Everyone gets impressed by artistes’ talent, but how many understand the hardwork, gurubhakti, humility needed to achieve this kind of mastery? This is possible only by internalising the tattvabodhanam present in Saint Thyagaraja kritis.

We applaud 👏👏👏 the Height of creativity in deriving a Carnatic classical raga from the Beethoven's classical masterpiece "fur Elise" (means for Elise) 💐. One glitch is that the correct spelling of Beethoven has been changed to Beethovan 😬-- if it can be rectified, it will please the millions of fans of Beethoven. 🙏🙏🙏

Neither I know Carnatic nor western since used to hindi retro film music... But somewhere this touches my soul so I presume others comments must be noteworthy since leading violinist violin Kalyanam has thanked me for this forward plus 3 class symbols. Innovation can preserve Carnatic music for a long period of time in my opinion as a very lay man.

What nice rendition of this team for an exploration of musics juxtaposed with traditional nagaswaram and other instruments.But chosen words for lyrics should have been short and simple so that for easy tongue .but the vocalists voice and nuances shouldn't be suppressed.Hence again,some research on multiple instruments can be tried like "arumuganam"like kanjira harmonium,morsing,Veena,jalatharang kadam and miruthuangam Long live music!!!

A raga cannot be invented, however it can be discovered or can be called as created if not in any texts. That being said, really appreciate your creation, its really fantastic and Abhishek has marvellously delivered it with bhava and so are the accompaniments. Let more similar stunning creations come out from you through Lord Subrahmanya's blessings!
@vinayak42013 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your kind words Sir! However let me clear a misconception that prevails generally.. that a raga cannot be invented (but can be only discovered’.) Invention is a intended design that’s non existent before while discovery is an accidental finding. invent /ɪnˈvɛnt/ verb create or design (something that has not existed before); be the originator of discover /dɪˈskʌvə/ verb 1. find unexpectedly or during a search. "firemen discovered a body in the debris" If people put forth the argument that the possibility of a raga is inherent in the existence of the swaras and therefore it is not invention then one cannot also call Micheal Faraday’s electric motor as invention since the possibilities already existed in the laws of physics. Intended design that’s new and that which is not an accidental finding - that is what an invention is. This raga is an invention because I have consciously designed the scale and phrases of Fur Elise anew with the appropriate gamakas in such a way that it conforms to the concept of a raga with clear definition of its Lakshana ie. unique features that makes it unambiguously distinct from any other raga and also pleasing to the minds of people. YO ASAU DHWANI VISESHASTHU RANJAKO JANA CHITTAANAM SA RAGA: The meaning of above basic definition of what constitutes a raga is: that which has a special sound colour of its own and that which attracts the minds of people, is a Raga. Thus an original new melody (by Mozart for example) too is an invention. Hope this helps😊😊

Dear Mr Abhishek Raghuram, you have some beautiful ragas in Karnatik music, like Todi,Kataharapriya, Nattakuranji to name a few. You don't need a rehassh of "fur Elise',( which by the way is in La Minor) and call it a new raga ! In fact, I have attended some of your recitals and found them brilliant in pure Karnatik music!.
@vinayak42013 жыл бұрын
Dear Barbara, Without taking anything away from your preferences I need to clarify a couple of things in here.. The body of ragas did not come into existence at once. New ragas kept on adding themselves to the pre existing ones. The new ones when they stand the test time become the traditional ‘beautiful’ classical ones. Today’s new ones are tomorrow’s tradition. Nobody knows who invented each one of them nor what inspired or influenced them - they could have been anything from anywhere- but the process of evolution of ragas had always been on, as it should be. Coming back, this however is not a rehash of Fur Elise. It is an assimilation of a classic melody by treating it with aesthetic inflection of South Indian gamakas in the South Indian idiom - to make it stand on its own merits as a raga. Karnatic music simply made the ‘foreign violin’ recognising the queen of instruments as it’s very own, more than a century back! In any case Beethoven himself was greatly influenced by Rig Veda. Beauty Knowledge Wisdom and things…should always be welcome no matter where they come from! By the way ma’am, I am the originator of this raga Beethovanapriya and the composer of this Kriti.

This raag very much resembles Vasantha Bhairavi raag, born of 14th Melakartha Raag Vakulabharanam. Akso Abhishek Raghuram is a drishti parikaaram singer in Carnatic sangirgam field as he has spoiled the original structure of all the kruthis in his all fake carnatic concerts.
