Well i just realised yesterday that i was shooting a kid and he was moving, i put iso on automatic mode, pics were amazing as i could shoot him while subject was moving (on fixed iso i was struggling as subject was moving) i just saw this video and can't agree more,he is saying in a very simple and interesting manner i didn't even missed a second of this video. your way of explaining is excellent, bilkul bore nahi lagta else half an hour video dekhne asan nahi. Thanks a lot sir❤❤

now a days i am watching a lot of your videos, and learning a lot. there are two questions in my mind, if you could please help me. 1. why not to keep shutter speed always very high, it will sort out all the problems. (or what is negatives of keeping shutter speed high). 2. why not to always keep auto focus on AF-C, let camera do the job i am always in focus, be it moving or still subject.
@SoloPhotographer25 күн бұрын
In photography, while using a high shutter speed can indeed help keep subjects sharp and freeze motion, there are a few key reasons why photographers don’t always opt for a high shutter speed: 1. Light Sensitivity (Exposure) A high shutter speed reduces the amount of light reaching the camera’s sensor. In low-light conditions, this can lead to underexposed, dark images. To balance exposure, photographers would need to compensate by either increasing the ISO (which can add noise) or opening the aperture (which can reduce depth of field). This is why in dim settings, photographers often use slower shutter speeds to capture more light. 2. Depth of Field (Aperture Dependency) A high shutter speed might require a wider aperture to allow more light in, which results in a shallower depth of field. This is great for isolating subjects with a blurred background, but it’s not ideal when the photographer wants a larger portion of the scene in focus (e.g., landscapes, group photos). Lowering the shutter speed allows for a narrower aperture, increasing the depth of field. 3. ISO and Image Quality Increasing the ISO to compensate for a high shutter speed in low light can result in grainy or noisy images, especially on cameras with smaller sensors. By using a slower shutter speed instead, photographers can keep the ISO lower and capture images with better quality and less noise. 4. Creative Motion Effects Not all photography aims to freeze motion. Slower shutter speeds are often used creatively to show motion blur, like the flow of a waterfall, moving clouds, or the light trails of cars at night. This blur can add a sense of movement and drama that frozen images can’t capture. 5. Camera Shake (Without Tripod or Stabilization) Even when handheld, photographers sometimes use slower shutter speeds to balance exposure, relying on camera stabilization or steady hands. High shutter speeds aren’t always necessary if the subject is stationary or moving minimally, and many cameras today can manage mild camera shake with in-body stabilization. In summary, while a high shutter speed is excellent for freezing fast action, using it all the time can limit creativity and image quality under certain lighting conditions and photographic styles. Balancing shutter speed with ISO, aperture, and artistic intent is what allows photographers to capture a wide variety of images. As far as as using AF-C all the time is conerned, you can do it if you are using back button AF.

Sir, according to you in most of the cases in manual mode you decide Aperture and Shutter Speed keeping creativity in mind and set ISO in Auto. Then how do you use Exposure compensation to cope with different situation?

I had similar experience when I did my first wedding photography. I went there to capture photos of a very specific person. And trust me when the studio people gave their album, I compared their photos with my photos.... my photos were way better than them 😊😊
