One reason why Abi might have handled the mic pack incident so well is because she's an experienced musician (even if her experience isn't on this level), and experienced musicians can handle wardrobe malfunctions better than inexperienced ones. Regardless, she did well enough to move on!

This was an absolute insult to Patrick 'cause no one's ever been able to cover this song without butchering it. Abi's flat on the verses, throwing an unnecessary C5 in there which sounded sharp (around 1:25), then trying way too hard to show off at the end.

This was honestly her second best performance of the season and the second best of the night! She ate that song up! Her belts are so powerful on the song. I thought it was interesting people who thought she didn’t have talent are the same people who have no idea what talent is. She held her own even when her equipment should have been tight. Go girl. I don't think it's automatic, although it helps. But you have to be consistent after that. I loved her audition, but she had honestly lost my vote until yellow brick road. Then she was on probation for it until the last two performances, where she has officially won me over. Julia had an amazing audition, and a few amazing performances after that, but I think she was too inconsistent to maintain public opinion
