Fish Curry Ingredients :
• Mango - 1 cup sliced
• Drumstick - 2 Nos
• Tomato - 2 Nos
• Green Chilli - 4 Nos
• Ginger - 1 inch
• Tamarind - lime sized ball
• Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
• Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
• Coconut Paste - 1 cup
• Prawns - 250g peeled
• Coconut Oil - 2 tbsp
• Shallots - 2 tsp sliced
• Curry Leaves - 10 Nos
• Salt
• Warm Water
Idichakka
• Idichakka -1
• Garlic - 20 pods
• Green Chilli - 10 Nos
• Coconut Oil - 1/2 cup
• Mustard - 1 tsp
• Curry Leaves - 10
• Salt
• Starch Water / Warm Water

I have tasted idichakka thoran prepared like this and was very tasty and instead of green chilies red chilies are also good . This is different from my mother’s recipe which includes the use of coconut and turmeric . Thank you

Great dishes thank you! Especially thank you for the tip of oiling hands before cutting jackfruit. Both my husband and I bought a ripe jackfruit here in US and we cut it open and it was a total mess the sticky stuff was impossible to get off omg, we had no idea what to do so we never bought anymore since then.

Super recipe maam... Both prawn and Jack fruit are my personal favourites..will definitly try this... In our area we usually use cocunut with idichakka, this is something new and looking delicious, and also i made that mutta kakkam and velutha aanam which everybody liked... Nostalgia ❤️ you remind me so much like my mother. When I learn cooking at standard 8 ,fish curry .she explained to me like this. I even now follow the same instruction even at this age. Though I cook a lot something s like this stick to our soul. I love the way you teach cooking with stories . Love you 💕💕💕 my mum is from Kannur too. Mam when I saw this idichakka recipe ..I remember my grandmother ...she used to make this ...exactly the same recipe ...I am from Calicut and this is authentic Kozhikode recipe...Thank you so much for your recipe....Hatsoff to you for your passionate cooking

We used to make Idichakka Toran'.,without garlic.. instead we use shallots,grated coconut, &dried red chillies.While seadoning(Kadu pottikkumbol)we use mustard,uzhunnuparippu,dried red chillies&curry leaves..😋😁From Thrissur (kodungallur)

Did not know you can eat mango skin, guessing that since it’s being cooked it is safe to consume. I simple love how you give detailed recipe along with substitutions and very helpful tips! I simply love learning from you and when I come to Kozhikode to visit my in-laws I am going to cook for them ;)
