The fact that these are all in ONE TAKE is just astounding to me. I am a musician, and where this one isn't live, it still takes a LOT to do all the filming in 1 take. From outside to indoors, then back outside, seamlessly through a car window, then back out to the outside of the car. Samuel is so damn talented too and the creative visions they have just blows me away every single time. Ren draws inspiration from Orwell's Animal Farm. In this story, the pigs represent many aspects in which greed is the most heavily handed, because it makes them indistinguishable from the humans they replaced. They also symbolize the ruling class and intellectual elite who manipulate and control the other animals. In this sense, the pig could be manipulating our boy Ren into committing a certain violent act. 💛🤘🤙✌️

For the longest time, Ren was tight lipped on what the pig meant, as he wanted it to be interpreted by each person. More recently he's shed a little more light on it, mentioning greed and his illness, but I believe also his dark side. Which he learned not to supress completely, since that only leads to more problems. But to dance with. To really feel it, process it, and give it it's space, and then release it to move forward. That comes from fragemented memories of his 1 mil sub video and a couple of the interviews he's done.

Toblerone is a chocolate with a very iconic shape; triangular and saw-toothed so you can break off pieces. Though I doubt it was because of the shape that he referenced it and more because it fit the rhyming scheme. The pig mask, I've heard it being mentioned that it was "just a familiar figure" in some of the videos and that he said he wasn't sure why a pig. But I never checked if that's actually something Ren said so I'd take that with a huge grain of salt.

10:22 - you're not wrong! Look up "Barrington Levy - Murderer", which has a similar sound for some versions of that main line (though the song overall is very different). And if you check out The Dreadin' It Podcast's reaction to this, you'll see that one of them basically sings it much like Ren does, because of that... not having had any idea that that's what Ren was going to do, just having that association with the word. I just watched that one today, and became aware of the Levy song that way. :)

So welcome to a small glimpse of cheeky Ren lol - there are far more than glimpses to come further in the rabbit hole lol. Ren is renowned for a lot of flow switch ups in his songs so cannot imagine you'll have a problem with that. I see everyone is pointing you to the acoustic version of this and they are right. As a general rule, where Ren has done a live acoustic version of one of his songs, it's often even better and always quite a bit different from the original video so it is always worth reacting to. Is it just the pig mask you have a problem with or animal masks as a whole ? If it's the latter, Animal Flow might be an interesting reaction lol.

Somewhere on Joe E Sparks (kzbin.info/www/bejne/qIvUf3WXfriUjrM) comments, Luke Flagg said this: so we actually had to hide a cut going in and out of the car because it was just me on camera and also shooting in a moving car with really specific camera movements and focus..I didn't know anyone who could do it the way I wanted, so I just had to end the first shot be leaning as far into the car as I could with the camera. Then cut and open the door, sit in the car. Then hold camera out of the car window as far as I can and record as I bring it in again, starting the next shot. Hardest thing was to 99% match the overlapping shots in that moment it goes through the window: angle, composition, etc. So there's a freeze frame where the inside of the car is a different shot to the outside of the car. As others may have already said, definitely check out the acoustic version of Murderer as well - guaranteed you’ll love it. :) Also heartily recommend “The Hunger” and you’ll definitely want to check out “Losing It” as well. Both are excellent examples of how good Ren’s rapping can be. Really enjoying your channel - it’s fun watching you go down the rabbit hole with Ren - same with Babymetal and Electric (formerly Eskimo) Callboy. :)

Abi, i gotta put ya mind to rest, don't be scared of the piggy. In all of the videos featuring the pig on a human head, it's our boi victus. Down on a beat featuring Victus is a Ren nod to his m8. His also in a lot of other videos, what you want. Losing it. For example. And yes, the pig is a thing about greed and power. It stems from Ren liking George Orwell ,an author who wrote Animal Farm ( the pig references ). And also the book 1984.!! Both great reads.!!! Great reaction and keep diving.
